  • CentroFix Bit Holder: Mechanically locking, magnetic quick-change bit holder for 1/4" bits (DIN 3126, ISO 1173, form C 6.3). Ensures a firm, wobble-free connection.
  • Compact Design: Ideal for working in confined or hard-to-reach areas where secure bit retention is crucial.

4. Setup and Bit Installation

The CentroFix bit holder is designed for quick and secure bit changes.

  1. Inserting a Bit:
    • Hold the screwdriver firmly by the handle.
    • Push the desired 1/4" bit (e.g., Phillips, Torx, Slotted) into the CentroFix holder until it clicks into place. The mechanical lock will engage, securing the bit.
    • Gently pull on the bit to ensure it is firmly seated and does not wobble.
  2. Removing a Bit:
    • Grasp the knurled ring of the CentroFix holder and pull it forward (away from the handle).
    • While holding the ring forward, pull the bit straight out of the holder.
    • Release the knurled ring to allow the locking mechanism to return to its closed position.

Note: For optimal performance, use high-quality 1/4" bits that conform to DIN 3126, ISO 1173, form C 6.3 standards. The secure hold of the CentroFix mechanism minimizes bit play, enhancing precision and reducing wear.

5. Operation

Once a bit is securely installed, the Wiha CentroFix screwdriver operates like a standard screwdriver. Apply firm, even pressure and turn clockwise for tightening or counter-clockwise for loosening fasteners. The ergonomic SoftFinish handle provides excellent grip and comfort, even during prolonged use.

  • Always match the bit type and size to the fastener head to prevent stripping.
  • Apply sufficient downward pressure to keep the bit engaged with the fastener.
  • Avoid excessive force that could damage the fastener, bit, or workpiece.

6. Maintenance and Care

Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and performance of your Wiha screwdriver.

  • Cleaning: Wipe the handle and bit holder with a clean, damp cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals or solvents that could damage the handle material.
  • Lubrication: The CentroFix mechanism is designed for maintenance-free operation. Do not apply lubricants to the bit holder, as this can attract dust and debris, potentially affecting its locking function.
  • Storage: Store the screwdriver in a dry environment, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  • Inspection: Periodically inspect the bit holder for any signs of wear or damage. If the locking mechanism feels loose or does not engage properly, discontinue use and consider replacement.
