5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Before First Use

  • Remove all packaging materials and protective films from the hob.
  • Clean the hob surface, burner caps, and pan supports with warm soapy water and a soft cloth. Dry thoroughly.

5.2 Igniting a Burner

  1. Ensure the gas supply is open.
  2. Push down the control knob for the desired burner.
  3. While holding the knob down, turn it counter-clockwise to the maximum flame position (large flame symbol). The integrated igniter will click.
  4. Once the flame ignites, continue to hold the knob down for approximately 5-10 seconds. This allows the flame failure safety device to activate.
  5. Release the knob. If the flame extinguishes, repeat the process, holding the knob down for a longer duration.

5.3 Adjusting Flame Intensity

  • To increase the flame, turn the knob further towards the large flame symbol.
  • To decrease the flame, turn the knob towards the small flame symbol.
  • For simmering, use the smallest stable flame setting.

5.4 Using Appropriate Cookware

  • Use cookware with a flat base that is appropriate for the size of the burner.
  • Ensure the flame does not extend beyond the base of the pot, as this wastes energy and can damage handles.
  • Place cookware centrally on the pan supports for stability.

5.5 Turning Off a Burner

  • Turn the control knob clockwise until it clicks into the 'OFF' position (dot symbol).
  • Ensure the flame is completely extinguished.
