3. Operating Instructions

The Wheeler Digital Trigger Pull Gauge offers both Peak and Live measurement modes, and can record multiple pulls for averaging.

3.1 Basic Measurement Procedure

  1. Ensure Firearm Safety: Always ensure the firearm is unloaded and pointed in a safe direction before handling.
  2. Power On: Turn on the digital trigger pull gauge.
  3. Position the Gauge: Place the gauge's contact point directly against the trigger. For triggers with safety blades, utilize the included trigger adapter (see Image 3.3).
  4. Apply Force: Slowly and steadily pull the gauge backward until the trigger breaks. Avoid sudden jerks.
  5. Read Measurement: The display will show the trigger pull weight. An audible indicator tone will sound when the measurement is complete.
  6. Reset: Release the trigger and reset the gauge for the next measurement.

3.2 Measurement Modes

The gauge supports different modes for various measurement needs:

  • Peak Mode: Records and displays the maximum force applied during a single trigger pull. This is ideal for determining the exact break weight.
  • Live Mode: Displays real-time force as it is applied to the trigger. Useful for observing the pull characteristics before the break.

Refer to the on-screen indicators for the currently active mode. The gauge also records the number of pulls, average pull weight, and minimum/maximum pull weights for a series of measurements.

3.3 Using the Trigger Adapter

For firearms with triggers that include a safety blade, attach the provided trigger adapter to the gauge's contact point. This adapter ensures proper engagement and accurate measurement without interference from the safety blade.
