Installation Instructions
The Franke Fast-IN Quick Install System simplifies faucet installation from above the countertop. A 1-3/8-inch hole is required for installation.
- Prepare the Sink: Ensure the sink hole is clean and free of debris. If using the 10-inch base plate for a 3-hole sink, place it over the holes.
- Feed Hoses: Feed the hot and cold water supply hoses and the pull-down spray hose through the sink hole from above the countertop.
- Position Faucet: Place the faucet base onto the sink hole, ensuring it is properly aligned.
- Secure with Fast-IN System: From above the countertop, locate the mounting screws on the Fast-IN faucet base. Use a screwdriver to tighten these screws. As you tighten, two mounting cleets will activate and rise from underneath the countertop, securing the faucet firmly to the mounting surface. Continue tightening until the faucet is stable and secure.
- Connect Water Lines: Underneath the sink, connect the hot and cold water supply hoses to the corresponding hot and cold water supply valves. Ensure connections are hand-tight, then use a wrench for a quarter-turn more. Do not overtighten.
- Connect Spray Hose: Connect the pull-down spray hose to the quick-connect fitting on the faucet's main body. Ensure it clicks securely into place.
- Install Weight: Attach the counterweight to the pull-down spray hose at the indicated position (typically 6-8 inches from the bottom of the loop) to ensure smooth retraction of the spray head.
- Test Faucet: Slowly turn on the main water supply. Check for any leaks at all connections. Operate the faucet handle and spray head to ensure proper function.

Operating Instructions
Your Franke Bern Semi-Pro Faucet features a single handle for water flow and temperature control, and a dual-function pull-down spray head.
- Water Flow and Temperature:
- Lift the single lever handle to turn on the water and control flow volume.
- Move the handle to the left for hot water and to the right for cold water.
- The handle has a 10-90 degree movement range, designed to avoid hitting a wall if installed close to one.
- Pull-Down Spray Head:
- Grasp the spray head and pull it down from the spout. The flexible hose and flex spring allow for maximum coverage.
- Dual Function Spray: Press the button on the spray head to toggle between a full stream and a needle spray. The spray mode will remain active until you switch it again, even if the water is turned off and on.
- After use, guide the spray head back into its docking position on the spout.

Maintenance and Care
Proper care will ensure the longevity and appearance of your Franke faucet.
- Cleaning: Clean the faucet regularly with a soft cloth and mild soap. Avoid abrasive cleaners, harsh chemicals, or scouring pads, as these can damage the finish.
- Aerator Maintenance: Periodically unscrew the aerator from the spray head and clean any mineral deposits or debris that may affect water flow.
- Hose Care: Ensure the pull-down hose moves freely and is not obstructed under the sink.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Low Water Flow | Clogged aerator; partially closed supply valves. | Clean the aerator. Ensure hot and cold water supply valves are fully open. |
| Leaks at Connections | Loose connections; damaged O-rings. | Check and tighten all connections. Replace O-rings if damaged. |
| Spray Head Not Retracting | Improperly positioned counterweight; obstruction under sink. | Adjust the counterweight position on the hose. Clear any obstructions. |
| Water Temperature Issues | Incorrect supply line connection; water heater issues. | Verify hot and cold supply lines are connected correctly. Check water heater settings. |
