4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Initial Startup (Priming the Pump)

Before starting the pump for the first time, or after draining the system, it is crucial to prime the pump. This involves filling the pump with water to properly onboard and avoid overheating. Remove the lid of the pump's strainer basket and fill the basket and suction line with water until it overflows. Replace the lid securely. Once primed, turn on the power to the pump.

4.2 Daily Operation

The pump is designed for continuous operation to maintain water circulation and filtration. The optimal run time depends on pool size, usage, and environmental factors. Consult your pool professional for recommended daily run times.

5. Maintenance

5.1 Strainer Basket Cleaning

Regularly inspect and clean the pump's strainer basket. Turn off the pump and disconnect power. Remove the strainer basket lid, lift out the basket, and empty any debris. Rinse the basket thoroughly and replace it, ensuring the lid is sealed properly to prevent air leaks.

5.2 Motor Ventilation

Ensure the motor's ventilation openings are clear of debris to allow for proper air circulation and prevent overheating. The pump features an automatic thermal air-flow ventilation system.

5.3 Winterization

In areas subject to freezing temperatures, the pump must be properly winterized to prevent damage. Consult a pool professional for specific winterization procedures for your system.

6. Troubleshooting

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
Pump does not startNo power; tripped breaker; motor overload; seized impeller.Check power supply and breaker. Allow motor to cool if overloaded. Consult technician if impeller is seized.
Low water flow / No primeStrainer basket clogged; air leak in suction line; low water level in pool; pump not primed.Clean strainer basket. Check for air leaks. Ensure adequate pool water level. Fill the pump with water during first use to properly onboard & avoid overheating.
Excessive noiseAir leak in suction line; cavitation (lack of water); worn bearings.Check for air leaks. Ensure pump is properly primed and water level is sufficient. Consult technician for worn bearings.
Pump overheatingInsufficient water flow; poor ventilation; motor issues.Ensure proper water flow and clear ventilation. Check for clogs. If problem persists, consult technician.
