3. Setup Guide
Follow these steps to set up your AcuRite Multi-Room Weather Station:
- Unpack Components: Carefully remove all items from the packaging.
- Install Sensor Batteries: Each of the three wireless sensors requires 2 'AA' alkaline or lithium batteries (not included). Open the battery compartment on the back of each sensor and insert the batteries, observing polarity (+/-).
- Set A-B-C Switch on Sensors: Inside the battery compartment of each sensor, locate the A-B-C switch. Assign a unique channel (A, B, or C) to each of your three sensors. This is crucial for the display unit to differentiate between them.
- Power the Display Unit: Plug the included power adapter into the display unit and then into a standard electrical outlet. For backup power during outages, install 3 'AAA' alkaline batteries (not included) into the display unit's battery compartment.
- Sensor Placement: Place the wireless sensors in your desired monitoring locations. Ensure they are within range of the display unit (up to 330 feet / 100 meters, line of sight). For outdoor sensors, choose a shaded location away from direct sunlight and precipitation to ensure accurate readings. For indoor sensors, place them in areas representative of the room's temperature and humidity, avoiding direct vents or heat sources.

- Synchronization: The display unit will automatically begin searching for the sensor signals. Ensure the sensors are powered on and within range. Once connected, the display will show temperature and humidity readings for each assigned channel (A, B, C) and its own built-in sensor (Display).
4. Operation
The AcuRite Multi-Room Weather Station display provides a wealth of information and customizable settings.

Display Overview:
- Temperature & Humidity: Each of the four sections on the display shows the current temperature and humidity percentage for its respective location.
- Weather Forecast: The central area of the display provides a 12-hour weather forecast icon based on changes in barometric pressure.
- Barometric Pressure: Displays the current barometric pressure, which is used for the weather forecast.
- Time & Date: The current time and date are shown, often automatically updated.
- Wireless Signal Strength: An indicator shows the signal strength for each remote sensor.
- Location Names: You can assign specific labels (e.g., Master BR, Outdoor, Basement, Kitchen) to each monitored location for easy identification.

Programmable Alarms:
The unit allows you to set custom high and low alarms for temperature and humidity for each monitored location. When conditions exceed or fall below your set thresholds, an audible and/or visual alert will activate.

Display Brightness:
The display features adjustable brightness settings (high, medium, low) and an auto-dim feature. Note that the display does not have an 'OFF' setting for the backlight when powered by the AC adapter. If you prefer the display backlight to be off at night, you may unplug the AC adapter; the unit will then run on backup batteries, and the backlight can be temporarily activated by pressing a button.
5. Maintenance
Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and accuracy of your weather station.
- Battery Replacement: Replace batteries in sensors and the display unit (for backup) annually or when the low battery indicator appears. For sensors, if a sensor becomes unresponsive, try removing its batteries for a few hours before reinserting fresh ones.
- Cleaning: Clean the display unit and sensors with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Sensor Placement Review: Periodically check the placement of your outdoor sensors to ensure they remain protected from direct elements and are providing accurate readings.
