4. Setup & Installation
These keycaps are designed for mechanical keyboards with standard Cherry MX style switches. Please ensure your keyboard uses this switch type for proper fitment. Note that some manufacturers, such as Corsair, use non-standard bottom row layouts which may not be fully compatible.
4.1. Removing Existing Keycaps
- Prepare your keyboard: Disconnect your keyboard from the computer to prevent accidental inputs.
- Use the keycap puller: Position the keycap puller over the keycap you wish to remove. Ensure the two loops of the puller securely grip opposite sides of the keycap.
- Gently pull: Apply steady, upward pressure to pull the keycap straight off the switch stem. Avoid twisting or pulling at an angle to prevent damage to the switch.
- Repeat: Continue this process for all keycaps you intend to replace.

- Press down firmly: Gently but firmly press the keycap straight down onto the switch until it clicks into place. Ensure it is seated evenly and securely.
- Verify stability: Lightly wiggle the installed keycap to ensure it is stable and does not wobble excessively.
- Repeat: Install all desired replacement keycaps.
- Reconnect: Once all keycaps are installed, reconnect your keyboard to the computer.

5. Maintenance
5.1. Cleaning Keycaps
- For light cleaning, use a soft, damp cloth to wipe the surface of the keycaps.
- For deeper cleaning, remove the keycaps using the provided keycap puller. You can wash them gently with mild soap and water. Ensure they are completely dry before re-installing them on your keyboard.
- Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials, as these can damage the keycap surface or legends.
6. Troubleshooting
6.1. Keycap Does Not Fit
- Check switch type: Ensure your keyboard uses standard Cherry MX style switches. These keycaps are not compatible with other switch types.
- Check keyboard layout: Some keyboards, particularly from brands like Corsair, use non-standard bottom row keycap sizes. Verify if your keyboard has a standard layout.
- Inspect keycap stem: Check for any manufacturing defects or debris inside the keycap's stem mount that might prevent proper seating.
6.2. Backlighting Appears Uneven or Dim
- Ensure proper seating: Make sure the keycap is fully pressed down onto the switch. An improperly seated keycap can block light.
- Keyboard backlighting settings: Adjust your keyboard's backlighting brightness and mode settings.
- Double-shot legends: These keycaps feature double-shot legends designed for clear backlighting. If issues persist, ensure the keycap is correctly oriented.
