Setup

Battery Installation

  1. Locate the battery compartment cover on the back of each walkie talkie unit.
  2. Press down on the tab and slide the cover downwards to open the compartment.
  3. Insert three (3) AA alkaline batteries into each unit, ensuring correct polarity (+/-) as indicated inside the compartment. A total of six (6) AA batteries are required for the pair.
  4. Slide the battery compartment cover back into place until it clicks securely.

Note: For optimal performance, use fresh alkaline batteries. Rechargeable batteries may also be used, but their performance may vary.

Attaching the Belt Clip

Each walkie talkie comes with a removable belt clip. To attach, slide the clip into the slot on the back of the unit until it locks into place. To remove, lift the tab on the clip and slide it upwards.

Operating Instructions

Power On/Off

  • To turn on: Press and hold the MENU button until the unit powers on.
  • To turn off: Press and hold the MENU button until the unit powers off.

Adjusting Volume

Use the + and - buttons to increase or decrease the listening volume.

Channel Selection

Your walkie talkies have 22 available channels. To select a channel:

  1. Press the MENU button once. The current channel number will flash on the display.
  2. Use the + or - buttons to select your desired channel.
  3. Press the MENU button again to confirm your selection, or wait a few seconds for the selection to be automatically saved.

Important: Both walkie talkies must be set to the same channel to communicate.

Transmitting and Receiving

  • To transmit (talk): Press and hold the PTT (Push-To-Talk) button located on the side of the unit. Speak clearly into the microphone. Release the PTT button when finished speaking.
  • To receive: Ensure the PTT button is not pressed. The unit will automatically receive transmissions on the selected channel.

Call Alert

Press the ♪ (Call Alert) button to send an audible call tone to other radios on the same channel. This alerts others that you wish to communicate.

Roger Beep

The unit emits a "Roger Beep" tone when the PTT button is released. This tone indicates to other users that your transmission has ended and they can now speak.

Channel Scan

To scan for active channels:

  1. Press the MENU button twice. The scan icon will appear on the display.
  2. The radio will automatically scan through all 22 channels and stop on any active channel.
  3. To stop scanning, press the MENU button again.

Battery Saver Mode

To conserve battery life, your walkie talkie automatically switches to battery saver mode if there are no transmissions within 10 seconds. This feature helps extend the operational time of the batteries.

Maintenance

Cleaning Your Walkie Talkies

  • Wipe the units with a soft, damp cloth.
  • Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Ensure the units are dry before storing or using.

Battery Care and Replacement

  • Remove batteries if the units will not be used for an extended period to prevent leakage.
  • Replace all three batteries in a unit at the same time. Do not mix old and new batteries.
