Operating Instructions
- Power On: Flip the power switch to the "ON" position. The compressor will start to fill the air tank until it reaches approximately 4 Bar (58 PSI), then it will automatically shut off.
- Adjust Pressure: Turn the pressure regulator knob clockwise to increase the output air pressure. Observe the gauge to set the desired working pressure for your airbrush. Turn counter-clockwise to decrease pressure.
- Automatic Operation: The compressor features an auto-start at 3 Bar (43 PSI) and auto-stop at 4 Bar (58 PSI). This maintains a consistent air supply and prolongs motor life.
- Airbrushing: Once the desired pressure is set, you can begin airbrushing. The compressor will cycle on and off as needed to maintain tank pressure.
- Power Off: When finished, turn the power switch to the "OFF" position. Disconnect the airbrush hose and drain any moisture from the water trap.

Maintenance
The Fengda AS-186A compressor is designed to be maintenance-free due to its oil-less piston. However, regular checks are recommended:
- Drain Water Trap: Regularly check and drain any accumulated moisture from the water trap at the bottom of the filter. This prevents moisture from reaching your airbrush.
- Clean Air Filter: Periodically inspect the air filter element. If it appears dirty, clean it according to the instructions provided with the filter, or replace it if necessary.
- Inspect Hoses and Connections: Check all air hoses and connections for wear, cracks, or leaks. Replace damaged hoses immediately.
- Clean Exterior: Wipe down the exterior of the compressor with a damp cloth to remove dust and debris. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
- Storage: When not in use for extended periods, store the compressor in a clean, dry environment.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Compressor does not start. | No power; power switch off; thermal overload. | Check power cord and outlet; ensure switch is ON; allow unit to cool down if overheated. |
| Low or no air pressure. | Regulator set too low; air leaks; clogged filter; airbrush malfunction. | Adjust regulator; check hose connections for leaks; clean/replace air filter; check airbrush for clogs. |
| Compressor runs continuously. | Air leak in system; pressure switch malfunction. | Check all connections for leaks; if problem persists, contact support. |
| Excessive moisture in air output. | Water trap full or not draining. | Drain the water trap. Ensure it is functioning correctly. |
