Setup
Follow these steps to set up your Alesis SamplePad 4:
- Power Connection: Connect the included power adapter to the 9V DC 500mA input on the rear panel of the SamplePad 4. Plug the adapter into a suitable power outlet.
- Audio Output: Connect the MAIN OUT (R/MONO and L) jacks to your mixer, amplifier, or audio interface using standard 1/4-inch TS cables. For mono output, use the R/MONO jack.
- Headphones: For private monitoring, connect headphones to the PHONES output on the rear panel.
- Trigger Input: If using an external trigger (e.g., a kick drum pad), connect it to the TRIG IN input on the rear panel using a 1/4-inch TS cable.

Loading and Assigning Samples
The SamplePad 4 allows you to load your own WAV samples from an SD/SDHC card. Samples should be 16-bit, mono or stereo, and at a sample rate of 48 kHz, 44.1 kHz, 32 kHz, 22.05 kHz, or 11.025 kHz.
- Prepare your SD card with desired WAV files in the root directory or in subfolders.
- Insert the SD card into the SamplePad 4.
