5. Setup and Installation

Follow these steps to properly set up and install your drive recorder:

Route the cable neatly along the windshield edge and dashboard to avoid obstructing your view or controls. Plug the other end into your vehicle's cigarette lighter socket or a compatible 12V power outlet.
6. Adjust Camera Angle: Once mounted, adjust the camera lens to capture the desired field of view, typically centered on the road ahead with a slight view of the hood. Use the live view on the LCD screen to assist with adjustment.
7. Initial Power On: Start your vehicle's engine. The drive recorder should power on automatically and begin recording.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Automatic Recording

The DC-DR400 automatically starts recording when the vehicle's engine is turned on and stops when the engine is turned off. There is no need for manual power on/off operations.

6.2 Manual Recording / Event Recording

In addition to continuous recording, the device supports event recording:

• G-Sensor Event Recording: If the built-in G-sensor detects a sudden impact or significant vibration (e.g., collision, hard braking), the device will automatically save the current recording segment as an event file, protecting it from being overwritten.
