1. Setup and Installation
Before beginning installation, ensure you have all necessary tools and components. Turn off the water supply to the installation area. This faucet is designed for 3-hole, 4-inch centerset installations.
1.1 Prepare the Sink Area
Clear the area around the sink. If replacing an old faucet, remove it and clean any residue from the sink surface.
1.2 Faucet Dimensions and Compatibility

Figure 1: Faucet Dimensions. This image displays the key dimensions of the Moen WS84503 faucet, including a spout reach of 4.38 inches and a height of 5.63 inches. It also indicates a maximum deck thickness of 1.75 inches, a 1/2-inch connection size, and suitability for 3-hole installation.

Figure 2: Sink Compatibility. This diagram illustrates a standard three-hole sink configuration, confirming the faucet's compatibility with such setups.
1.3 Install the Faucet
- Position the Faucet: Place the faucet body onto the sink deck, aligning the water supply lines and the drain lift rod through the appropriate holes. Ensure the plastic gasket is correctly seated between the faucet and the sink surface to prevent leaks.
- Secure the Faucet: From underneath the sink, secure the faucet using the provided mounting hardware. Hand-tighten the nuts first, then use a basin wrench or adjustable pliers to tighten them securely. Avoid over-tightening to prevent damage to the sink or faucet.
- Connect Water Supply Lines: Attach the hot and cold water supply lines to the corresponding inlets on the faucet. Connect the other ends of the supply lines to your shut-off valves. Ensure all connections are hand-tight, then use a wrench to tighten them an additional quarter to half turn. Do not overtighten.
1.4 Install the Drain Assembly
- Prepare the Drain Body: Apply plumber's putty around the underside of the drain flange. Insert the drain flange into the drain opening of the sink.
- Secure the Drain Body: From underneath the sink, thread the rubber washer, friction washer, and mounting nut onto the drain body. Hand-tighten, then use a wrench to secure it, ensuring the drain body is centered and the putty creates a watertight seal. Wipe away any excess plumber's putty.
- Connect the Lift Rod: Insert the lift rod through the faucet body and connect it to the clevis strap on the drain body. Adjust the clevis strap and secure it with the clevis screw to ensure the drain stopper operates smoothly.
2. Operating Instructions

Figure 3: Faucet in Operation. A close-up view of the Moen WS84503 faucet with water flowing, demonstrating its low arc design and single-handle operation.
2.1 Water Flow and Temperature Control
The Moen WS84503 Adler faucet features a single-handle lever for easy control of both water flow and temperature.
- Turn On/Off: Lift the handle upwards to turn on the water. Push the handle downwards to turn off the water.
- Adjust Water Flow: The further you lift the handle, the greater the water flow.
- Adjust Temperature: Move the handle to the left for hot water and to the right for cold water. The center position provides mixed water.
2.2 Drain Stopper Operation
The faucet includes a lift rod drain stopper for convenient filling and draining of the sink basin.
- Close Drain: Pull the lift rod located at the back of the faucet upwards to close the drain stopper.
- Open Drain: Push the lift rod downwards to open the drain stopper and allow water to drain.
3. Maintenance
Regular maintenance will ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your Moen faucet.
- Cleaning: Clean the faucet regularly with a soft, damp cloth and mild soap. Avoid abrasive cleaners, harsh chemicals, or scouring pads, as these can damage the chrome finish.
- Aerator Cleaning: If water flow becomes restricted, the aerator may be clogged. Unscrew the aerator from the end of the spout, clean any debris or mineral deposits, and reattach it.
- Checking for Leaks: Periodically inspect all connections under the sink for any signs of leaks. Tighten connections as needed, but do not overtighten.
4. Troubleshooting
