Safety Information

Please read and understand all safety warnings before using the Navage Nasal Irrigation System.

  • Not for use by children under the age of 12.
  • If you experience pain during use, stop immediately. If the pain continues, consult a health care professional.
  • Consult your doctor before use if you have had ear or nose surgery in the past 6 months.
  • Do not use if you have an ear infection or if your ears are blocked.
  • Do not use if your nasal passages are completely blocked, as this could create pressure and solution retention inside the nasal or sinus cavities, potentially causing adverse symptoms in the ears.
  • Ear popping and fullness are rare but known side effects of nasal irrigation that typically resolve on their own in a short time.
  • Consult a health care practitioner if you are using to relieve congestion and there is no improvement after use; if your symptoms persist or worsen; if you have a persistently thick and yellow or green discharge; or if skin at the base of the nostrils becomes raw or crusted.
  • Terminate use if no saline appears in the lower tank after 60 seconds.
  • Do not use continuously for longer than 5 minutes.
  • Clean the device after each use according to the instructions in the Maintenance section of this manual.
  • Using the product with illegal drugs, alcohol, or prescription drugs except when prescribed by a physician is prohibited, may damage the device, voids the warranty, and may cause serious injury.
  • Use only as indicated in the instructions provided or as directed by a health care practitioner.
  • Consult your physician if you have questions or concerns about whether or not you should irrigate.

Important Water Usage Safety Information: Always use one of the following types of water when using your Navage:

  • Commercially bottled; freshly opened
  • Distilled
  • Micro-filtered (0.2 micron)
  • Previously boiled for at least 3 minutes and cooled to lukewarm or body temperature; used promptly

DO NOT USE TAP WATER UNLESS STERILIZED BY BOILING.

Setup

Before your first use, ensure all components are present and follow these steps for proper setup.

Navage Starter Bundle contents

Figure 3: The Navage Starter Bundle includes the nose cleaner, 30 SaltPods, 1 nasal dock, 1 pair of nose pillows, a scrubber, and 2 AA batteries.

  1. Install Batteries: Insert the included AA batteries into the designated compartment. Ensure correct polarity.
  2. Attach Nasal Dock: Securely attach the nasal dock to the main unit.
  3. Fill Upper Tank: Fill the upper tank with distilled water up to the indicated "FILL LINE". Refer to the Safety Information section for important details on water type.
  4. Insert SaltPod: Place a new, unused Navage SaltPod into the crushing chamber with the foil-side down.
  5. Close Lid: Close the lid firmly until you hear it click shut. It is crucial not to reopen the lid once a SaltPod is inserted and the lid is closed, as this will activate a safety feature preventing the device from turning on without a new SaltPod.
  6. Position Nose Pillows: Position the nose pillows snugly in your nostrils to create a firm seal. You may moisten the nose pillows with water to make them easier to slip into your nostrils.

  2. Begin Rinse: The saline solution will begin to flow through one nostril, circulate through your nasal passages, and exit through the other nostril into the lower collection tank.
  3. Duration: A typical cycle can last from 10 to 60 seconds, depending on individual anatomy and congestion levels.
  4. Finish Cycle: When the rinse is complete, release the power button.
