2. Setup Instructions

Follow these steps to set up your Coway Airmega AP-1512HH(W) air purifier.

  1. Unpack the Unit: Carefully remove the air purifier and all packaging materials from the box.
  2. Remove Filter Packaging: Open the front cover of the air purifier. Remove the plastic packaging from the Deodorization filter and True HEPA filter. The Pre-filter does not have plastic packaging.
  3. Install Filters: Insert the filters back into the unit in the correct order: True HEPA filter first, followed by the Deodorization filter, and then the Pre-filter. Ensure they are seated properly.
  4. Close Cover: Securely close the front cover.
  5. Placement: Place the air purifier on a flat, stable surface, ensuring adequate space around the air intake and outlet for optimal airflow. Avoid placing it directly against walls or furniture.
  6. Connect Power: Plug the power cord into a standard electrical outlet.

3. Operating Instructions

Familiarize yourself with the control panel and operating modes of your air purifier.

3.1 Control Panel

The control panel is located on the top of the unit and features various buttons and indicators for easy operation.

3.2 Power On/Off

Press the Power button (Power button icon) to turn the unit on or off.

3.3 Fan Speed Control

Press the Speed button (Fan speed icon) to cycle through fan speeds: 1 (Low), 2 (Medium), 3 (High).

3.4 Auto Mode

Press the Auto button (Auto mode icon) to activate Auto Mode. In this mode, the air purifier automatically adjusts the fan speed based on the real-time air quality detected by its pollution sensor.

3.5 Eco Mode

Eco Mode is automatically engaged when the air quality remains clean for 30 minutes in Auto Mode. The fan will stop to save energy and will resume operation if pollution is detected.

3.6 Timer Settings

Press the Timer button (Timer icon) to set the operating time for 1, 4, or 8 hours. The unit will automatically power off after the selected duration.

3.7 Ionizer Function (Vital Ion)

Press the Ion button (Ionizer icon) to turn the Vital Ionizer function on or off. The ionizer helps to further reduce airborne particles.

3.8 Air Quality Indicator

The LED light on the control panel indicates the current indoor air quality:

  • Blue: Good air quality
  • Purple: Moderate air quality
  • Red: Unhealthy air quality

4. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the lifespan of your air purifier.

4.1 Filter Replacement Indicator

The unit is equipped with a filter replacement indicator that illuminates when the True HEPA Filter or Deodorization Filter needs attention. The HEPA light indicates the True HEPA filter, and the ODOR light indicates the Deodorization filter.

4.2 Pre-Filter Cleaning

The Pre-filter is washable and should be cleaned regularly (approximately every 2-4 weeks, depending on usage and air quality).

  1. Open the front cover and pull out the Pre-filter.
  2. Clean the filter with water or a vacuum cleaner. Ensure it is completely dry before re-installing.
  3. Fit the cover back to the product.

4.3 Deodorization Filter and True HEPA Filter Replacement

The Deodorization filter typically needs replacement every 6 months, and the True HEPA filter typically needs replacement every 12 months. Replacement frequency may vary based on usage and air quality.

  1. Open the front cover and pull out the old filters.
  2. Remove the plastic packing from the new filters before installing.
  3. Install the new filters in the proper order: True HEPA filter first, then the Deodorization filter.
  4. Close the front cover.

4.4 Resetting the Filter Indicator

After cleaning or replacing filters, press and hold the Filter Reset button (Filter reset icon) for approximately 2 seconds until the indicator light turns off.
