4. Operation
This baseboard heater does not include an integrated thermostat. An external wall-mounted thermostat (sold separately) is required for temperature control. Once properly installed and wired to an external thermostat, operation is straightforward.
- Turning On/Off: The heater will turn on and off based on the settings of the external thermostat. Ensure the circuit breaker supplying power to the heater is in the 'ON' position.
- Temperature Adjustment: Adjust the desired room temperature using your external thermostat.
- Initial Use: When first operated, the heater may emit a slight odor or smoke. This is normal and temporary, caused by the burning off of manufacturing residues. Ensure the area is well-ventilated during initial use.
5. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and longevity of your heater. Always disconnect power to the heater at the main circuit breaker before performing any maintenance.
- Cleaning: Periodically clean the exterior of the heater with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Dust and Lint: Use a vacuum cleaner with a brush attachment to remove dust and lint from the grilles and interior of the heater. Accumulated dust can reduce efficiency and pose a fire hazard.
- No User-Serviceable Parts: This heater contains no user-serviceable parts. Do not attempt to repair or modify the heater yourself. Contact a qualified service technician for any repairs.
6. Troubleshooting
If you experience issues with your Dimplex LC3010W31 heater, refer to the following common troubleshooting steps:
