Setup: Setting Your Combination
Your lock is preset to 0-0-0 at the factory. To set your personal combination, follow these steps:
- Ensure the lock is set to the default combination (0-0-0) and the cable is unlocked.
- Locate the small reset button on the side or bottom of the lock. This button is typically recessed and requires a pen or a pointed object to press.
- While pressing and holding the reset button, rotate the dials to your desired 3-digit combination. Choose a memorable number.
- Release the reset button. Your new combination is now set.
- Scramble the dials to lock the cable. Test your new combination to ensure it opens the lock correctly before securing any valuables.

Operating Your Lock
Locking and Unlocking
- To lock: Ensure the cable is inserted into the lock body and scramble the dials away from your set combination.
- To unlock: Rotate the dials to your personal 3-digit combination. The cable will release from the lock body.
TSA Inspection Indicator
This lock features a pop-up inspection indicator. If TSA agents open your lock using their master key, a small red indicator will pop up on the top of the lock. This allows you to know if your luggage has been inspected without the lock being damaged.

Maintenance
To ensure the longevity and smooth operation of your BV Travel Lock:
- Keep the lock clean and free from dirt or debris, especially around the dials and cable mechanism.
- Avoid exposing the lock to extreme temperatures or harsh chemicals.
- If the dials become stiff, a small amount of silicone-based lubricant can be applied.
Troubleshooting
Forgotten Combination
If you forget your combination, there is no master key or backdoor to reset it without knowing the current combination. It is highly recommended to write down your combination and store it in a secure, memorable place, separate from your luggage.
Lock Not Opening
- Double-check that the dials are precisely aligned with your set combination.
- Ensure the cable is fully inserted into the lock body before attempting to unlock.
- If the dials are stiff, try wiggling them gently or applying a small amount of lubricant.
