1. Introduction

The Intermatic T101 is a robust and reliable 24-hour mechanical timer switch designed for heavy-duty applications. 3. Setup and Installation

WARNING: Disconnect power at the main panel before servicing this switch or the equipment it controls. Failure to do so may result in serious injury or death.

Installation should be performed by a qualified electrician in accordance with all local and national electrical codes.

3.1 Mounting

  1. Choose a suitable indoor location for mounting the timer, ensuring it is protected from moisture and extreme temperatures.
  2. Securely mount the timer enclosure to a wall or suitable surface using appropriate fasteners through the mounting holes provided.

3.2 Wiring

The T101 is a Single Pole, Single Throw (SPST) switch designed for 120V AC applications. Refer to the wiring diagram inside the timer enclosure for specific connections. Ensure all connections are tight and secure.

  • Connect the incoming LINE (hot) wire to the terminal marked 'LINE'.
  • Connect the outgoing LOAD wire to the terminal marked 'LOAD'.
  • Connect the NEUTRAL wire to the terminal marked 'NEUTRAL'.
  • Ensure proper grounding according to local codes.

CAUTION: Do not connect aluminum wires to switch terminals. Use copper conductors only.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Setting Current Time

  1. Rotate the yellow dial clockwise until the current time of day aligns with the SET TIME arrow located at the center of the dial.
  2. Ensure AM/PM is correctly observed (e.g., 3 PM is 15 on the 24-hour dial).

4.2 Programming ON/OFF Times

The timer uses trippers to set ON and OFF events. One ON tripper (green) and one OFF tripper (red) are included.

  1. To set an ON time, slide the green ON tripper onto the dial at the desired time.
  2. To set an OFF time, slide the red OFF tripper onto the dial at the desired time.
  3. Ensure a minimum of 1-hour interval between ON and OFF events.
  4. Additional trippers can be purchased to program up to 12 ON/OFF events per day.

4.3 Manual Override

The T101 features a manual override lever located below the dial. This allows you to temporarily turn the connected load ON or OFF without disturbing the programmed schedule.

  • To manually turn the load ON, push the lever towards the 'ON' position.
  • To manually turn the load OFF, push the lever towards the 'OFF' position.
  • The timer will resume its programmed schedule at the next scheduled ON or OFF event.

5. Maintenance

The Intermatic T101 timer switch is designed for long-term, reliable operation with minimal maintenance. No user-serviceable parts are inside the sealed motor mechanism.

  • Periodically inspect the timer for any signs of damage or loose connections.
  • Keep the enclosure clean and free from dust and debris. Use a dry cloth for cleaning.
  • Do not lubricate any part of the timer.

6. Troubleshooting

If you experience issues with your T101 timer, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
