Camera Overview

Familiarize yourself with the camera's physical components:

Setup

1. Inserting the Battery

  1. Open the battery compartment cover on the rear of the camera.
  2. Insert the 1150 mAh Li-ion battery, ensuring the correct orientation.
  3. Close the battery compartment cover securely.

2. Inserting a Micro SD Card

The camera supports Micro SDHC cards up to 64GB. A Class 10 or higher speed rating is recommended for optimal video recording performance.

  1. Locate the Micro SD card slot on the side of the camera.
  2. Insert the Micro SD card with the gold contacts facing the front of the camera until it clicks into place.
  3. To remove, gently push the card in until it springs out.

3. Charging the Battery

Connect the camera to a USB power source (e.g., computer, USB wall adapter) using the provided USB cable. The charging indicator light will illuminate. Charging time may vary.

4. Mounting the Camera

The AMK5000S comes with various mounts and accessories for different applications. Attach the camera to the desired mount (e.g., helmet strap, J-shape mount) using the provided screws and bases. Ensure all connections are secure before use.

Operating Instructions

1. Power On/Off

  • To Power On: Press and hold the Power/Mode button on the front of the camera until the LCD screen illuminates.
  • To Power Off: Press and hold the Power/Mode button until the camera shuts down.

2. Mode Selection

Press the Power/Mode button repeatedly to cycle through the available modes: Video Recording, Photo Capture, Playback, and Settings.

3. Video Recording

  1. Switch to Video Recording mode.
  2. Press the Shutter/Record button on top of the camera to start recording. The recording indicator light will flash.
  3. Press the Shutter/Record button again to stop recording. The file will be saved to the Micro SD card.

4. Photo Capture

  1. Switch to Photo Capture mode.
  2. Press the Shutter/Record button to take a photo. The photo will be saved to the Micro SD card.

5. WiFi Connection and Mobile App

The AMK5000S supports WiFi connectivity for remote control via a mobile application (compatible with Android and iOS).

  1. Enable WiFi on the camera (refer to the camera's settings menu).
  2. On your smartphone or tablet, search for the camera's WiFi network and connect to it.
  3. Download and install the dedicated AMK-icam mobile application from your device's app store.
  4. Open the app to control the camera, view live footage, and transfer files (effective range 10-15 meters).

6. Playback and Connectivity

You can review your captured photos and videos directly on the camera's LCD screen in Playback mode. For viewing on larger screens or transferring files:

  • USB: Connect the camera to a computer using the USB cable to access files on the Micro SD card.
  • HDMI: Connect the camera to an HDMI-compatible display (e.g., TV, projector) using an HDMI cable for direct playback.
  • AV-Out: Use the AV-Out port for connection to compatible devices.

Maintenance

1. Cleaning

  • Use a soft, lint-free cloth to clean the camera body and lens.
  • For stubborn smudges on the lens, use a specialized lens cleaning solution and cloth.
  • Ensure the camera is dry before storing or using the waterproof case.

2. Waterproof Case Care

  • After each use in water, rinse the waterproof case with fresh water and allow it to air dry.
  • Inspect the O-ring seal for any debris or damage before each use to ensure waterproofing.
  • Do not use sharp objects to clean the O-ring groove.

3. Storage

Store the camera and accessories in the provided shock-resistant carrying case in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Remove the battery if storing for extended periods.

Troubleshooting

  • Camera does not power on: Ensure the battery is fully charged and correctly inserted.
  • Cannot record video/take photos: Check if a Micro SD card is inserted and has sufficient free space. Ensure the card is formatted correctly (FAT32).
  • Poor video/photo quality: Ensure the lens is clean. Check the selected resolution settings.
  • WiFi connection issues: Ensure WiFi is enabled on the camera and your mobile device. Restart both devices. Check the distance between the camera and your device.
  • Water leakage in waterproof case: Immediately remove the camera. Inspect the O-ring seal for damage or debris. Ensure the case is properly closed and latched.
