Setup

1. Battery Installation

  1. Open the battery compartment cover on the back of the handset.
  2. Insert the supplied Lithium-ion battery, ensuring correct polarity.
  3. Close the battery compartment cover.
  4. Place the handset on the charger cradle to charge for at least 10 hours before first use.

2. Connecting the Base Unit

  1. Connect the AC power adapter to the base unit and plug it into a power outlet.
  2. Connect one end of the telephone line cord to the LINE jack on the base unit.
  3. Connect the other end of the telephone line cord to your telephone wall jack.

3. Handset Registration (if necessary)

Your handset is usually pre-registered. If not, or if you add new handsets:

  1. On the base unit, press and hold the registration button (refer to the base unit diagram for location) until the registration indicator lights up.
  2. On the handset, navigate to the 'Registration' menu and follow the on-screen prompts.

Operating Instructions

Making and Receiving Calls

  • To Make a Call: Pick up the handset, dial the number, and press the Talk button.
  • To Receive a Call: When the phone rings, press the Talk button on the handset.
  • One-Touch Dial: Both the base unit and handset feature 3 large one-touch dial buttons for frequently called numbers. Refer to the phone's menu for programming these buttons.

Answering Machine

Your phone is equipped with a digital answering system with approximately 15 minutes of recording time.

  • Activating: Access the answering machine settings via the handset menu or base unit controls.
  • Playing Messages: Press the Play button on the base unit or access the 'Messages' menu on the handset.
  • Automatic Recording Notification: The system provides automatic recording notification upon incoming calls.

Nuisance Call Prevention

The TF-SD15S includes enhanced features to manage unwanted calls:

  • Caller ID: Displays the caller's number (subscription to Caller ID service required from your phone provider).
  • "Leave it to Answer" Function: Allows you to confirm the caller's identity before answering the call.
  • Specific Number Guard: Register unwanted callers. The phone will handle these calls with a message without ringing and automatically disconnect.
  • "Anshin Call" (Peace of Mind Call): The ringtone switches to a dedicated one for registered safe callers, allowing you to answer with peace of mind.

Ringtone Selection

Choose from 9 types of ringtones, including 5 melodies, to suit your preference. Access ringtone settings through the handset menu.

Power Outage Operation

The base unit can make calls even during power outages, ensuring basic communication functionality.
