4. Setup and Installation

4.1. Choosing a Location

Place the pump module on a flat, stable surface near the water bottle and the appliance it will supply. Ensure adequate ventilation and protection from moisture. The pump can also be wall-mounted using the provided bracket.

4.2. Connecting the Suction Wand

  1. Insert the suction wand into a 3- or 5-gallon water bottle. Ensure the universal seal cap fits snugly over the bottle opening to prevent contaminants from entering.
  2. Connect the small hose from the suction wand to the inlet port on the pump module. Secure with a hose clamp if necessary (not typically included, but recommended for a tight seal).

4.3. Connecting the Discharge Hose

  1. Connect the discharge hose (20 ft) to the outlet port on the pump module.
  2. Route the other end of the discharge hose to the water inlet of your appliance (e.g., refrigerator, coffee maker). Ensure the hose is not kinked or pinched.
  3. Secure the connection to the appliance's water inlet according to the appliance manufacturer's instructions.

4.4. Power Connection

Plug the 115V US plug into a standard electrical outlet. The pump is now ready for operation.

5. Operating Instructions

The Flojet 5000 Series system operates automatically. When the connected appliance demands water, the pump will activate to supply water. When the appliance's water reservoir is full, the pump will automatically shut off.

  1. Ensure a full water bottle is connected and all hoses are securely fastened.
  2. Plug the pump into a 115V AC power outlet.
  3. The pump will prime itself and fill the appliance's reservoir. This may take a few minutes during initial setup.
  4. When the water bottle is empty, the pump will detect the low water level and shut off to prevent dry running. Replace the empty bottle with a new one.

Note: The pump is designed for intermittent duty. Avoid continuous operation for extended periods without water flow.

6. Maintenance

6.1. Replacing Water Bottles

When the pump stops delivering water and the low water indicator (if present on your model) illuminates, it's time to replace the water bottle.

  1. Unplug the pump from the power outlet.
  2. Remove the suction wand from the empty bottle.
  3. Insert the suction wand into a new, full water bottle, ensuring the seal cap is properly seated.
  4. Plug the pump back into the power outlet. The pump will automatically prime and resume operation.

6.2. Cleaning

Periodically inspect the suction wand and hoses for any signs of algae or mineral buildup. Clean with a mild, food-grade sanitizing solution if necessary. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners on any part of the system.

Wipe the exterior of the pump module with a damp cloth. Do not spray water directly onto the pump.
