Setup & Installation

Proper installation is crucial for the safe and efficient operation of your inverter. This inverter is designed for off-grid systems only.

DC Input Connection (Battery)

Connect the inverter to your 12V battery system using the provided cables. Ensure connections are tight to prevent arcing and power loss.

  • Remove the hardware (nut, lock washer, flat washer) from the inverter's DC input studs.
  • Connect the red cable to the positive (+) terminal and the black cable to the negative (-) terminal. If using two cables per terminal, twist them together for a better connection before securing.
  • Place the flat washer, then the lock washer, and finally tighten the nut securely.
  • Connect the other ends of the cables to your 12V battery bank, ensuring correct polarity.

AC Output Connection

The inverter provides dual US outlets and a hardwire terminal for AC output.

  • For standard appliances, use the dual US outlets (15A Max).
  • For high-power appliances, use the hardwire terminal (25A Max).
  • When hardwiring, connect the yellow wire to GROUND, the black wire to NEUTRAL, and the red wire to HOT.
  • After wiring, secure the plastic cover over the terminal block.

Operating Instructions

Once properly installed, operating the inverter is straightforward:

  • Power On/Off: Use the main power switch on the front panel to turn the inverter on or off.
  • LED Display: The digital LED display shows the input DC voltage and output AC voltage, allowing you to monitor the system's status.
  • Connecting Appliances: Plug your AC appliances into the outlets or connect them via the hardwire terminal. Ensure the total wattage of connected appliances does not exceed the inverter's continuous power rating (3000W).
  • Overload Protection: The inverter has built-in overload protection. If an overload occurs, the inverter will shut down to prevent damage. Reduce the load and restart the inverter.

Load Considerations

Different types of loads have different power requirements. For resistive loads (e.g., heaters, lights), choose an inverter with continuous power equal to or slightly higher than the appliance's rated power. For inductive loads (e.g., motors, compressors, refrigerators), the starting current can be 3-7 times higher than the running current. Select an inverter whose continuous power is 3-7 times higher than your inductive appliance's continuous power to handle the surge.

Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your WZRELB inverter, consider the following common problems and solutions:

  • No Output Power: Check battery connections for tightness and correct polarity. Verify battery voltage is within the operating range (10V-15V DC). Ensure the inverter's power switch is ON.
  • Overload Shutdown: If the inverter shuts down, it may be due to an excessive load. Disconnect some appliances and restart the inverter. Refer to the Load Considerations section.
  • Low Voltage Alarm/Shutdown: This indicates the input DC voltage is too low (below 10.5V for alarm, below 9V for shutdown). Recharge or replace your battery.
  • Over Temperature Shutdown: If the inverter becomes too hot, its internal protection will shut it down. Ensure adequate ventilation and clear any obstructions from the cooling fans. Allow the unit to cool down before restarting.
  • Fan Not Running: The intelligent cooling fans activate based on internal temperature. If the inverter is cool or under light load, the fans may not run. If the inverter is hot and fans are not running, contact support.
