Introduction
The Altec Lansing Mini LifeJacket 2 is a compact, durable, and portable Bluetooth speaker designed for outdoor and travel use. It features IP67 waterproof, shockproof, and snowproof ratings, and is designed to float in water. This manual provides instructions for setup, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting to ensure optimal performance of your speaker.

What's in the Box
Upon unboxing your Altec Lansing Mini LifeJacket 2, please ensure all components are present:
- Altec Lansing Mini LifeJacket 2 Bluetooth Speaker (Model: AL-IMW477)
- USB Charging Cable
- Quick Start Guide (separate document)
Note: A 3.5mm auxiliary cable may be included with some models.

Setup
1. Charging the Speaker
Before first use, fully charge your Mini LifeJacket 2 speaker. A full charge provides up to 10 hours of playtime.
- Locate the charging port on the back of the speaker. It is typically covered by a protective flap to ensure waterproofing.
- Open the protective flap.
- Connect the small end of the provided USB charging cable to the speaker's "DC IN 5V" port.
- Connect the large end of the USB cable to a USB power adapter (not included) or a computer's USB port.
- The charging indicator light will illuminate. Once fully charged, the light may change color or turn off, depending on the model.
- After charging, securely close the protective flap to maintain the speaker's waterproof integrity.

2. Bluetooth Pairing
Pair your speaker with a Bluetooth-enabled device (smartphone, tablet, computer) to stream audio wirelessly.
- Press and hold the Power button on the speaker until you hear an audible prompt and the Bluetooth indicator light begins to flash, indicating it's in pairing mode.
- On your device, navigate to the Bluetooth settings.
- Select "Mini LifeJacket 2" from the list of available devices.
- Once successfully paired, the speaker will provide an audible confirmation, and the Bluetooth indicator light will become solid.
- The speaker can maintain a stable connection for up to 30 feet.
Note: Some users have reported a loud voice prompt during pairing. This is normal operation for the device.
3. Auxiliary Input
For devices without Bluetooth, use the 3.5mm auxiliary input.
- Open the protective flap on the back of the speaker.
- Connect one end of a 3.5mm audio cable (not included) to the speaker's "AUX IN" port.
- Connect the other end of the cable to your audio device's headphone jack.
- The speaker will automatically switch to auxiliary mode.
- Adjust volume on both the speaker and your connected device.
- Securely close the protective flap after use.
Operating the Speaker
Basic Controls
- Power On/Off: Press and hold the Power button (⏻) located on the top of the speaker.
- Volume Up: Press the '+' button.
- Volume Down: Press the '-' button.
- Play/Pause: Press the Play/Pause button (usually a triangle or circle icon).
- Skip Track: Double-press the '+' button for next track, or '-' button for previous track (functionality may vary by device).

Hands-Free Speakerphone
The Mini LifeJacket 2 features a built-in microphone for hands-free calling when connected via Bluetooth.
- Answer Call: Press the Play/Pause button once when a call comes in.
- End Call: Press the Play/Pause button once during a call.
- Reject Call: Press and hold the Play/Pause button.
Durability Features
The Mini LifeJacket 2 is designed for rugged use:
- IP67 Waterproof: The speaker can be submerged in water up to 1 meter (3.3 feet) for 30 minutes. Ensure all port covers are securely closed before exposure to water.
- Shockproof: Built to withstand drops and impacts.
- Snowproof: Operates reliably in snowy conditions.
- Floats in Water: Designed to float, making it ideal for pool or beach use.

Maintenance
Proper care and maintenance will extend the life of your speaker.
- Cleaning: Use a soft, damp cloth to clean the speaker. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners. For saltwater exposure, rinse with fresh water and dry thoroughly.
- Storage: Store the speaker in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Ensure all port covers are sealed when not in use or during storage.
- Battery Care: To preserve battery life, avoid fully discharging the battery frequently. Recharge the speaker regularly, even if not in constant use.
Troubleshooting
