3. Setup
3.1 Powering the Device
The Panasonic SL-CT490 can be powered using the included AC adapter or rechargeable batteries. Ensure the device is fully charged before first use for optimal performance.
- Using the AC Adapter: Connect the AC adapter to the DC 4.5V input port on the player and plug it into a standard wall outlet.
- Using Rechargeable Batteries: Open the battery compartment (refer to Figure 4) and insert the specified rechargeable batteries. Close the compartment securely. The full charge time for the included rechargeable battery is approximately 2 hours.
3.2 Inserting a CD
- Slide the OPEN switch to open the CD compartment lid.
- Place the CD onto the center spindle with the label side facing up.
- Gently press the CD until it clicks into place.
- Close the CD compartment lid securely.
3.3 Connecting Headphones/Earphones
Connect your 3.5mm headphones or earphones to the headphone jack on the side of the player.
4. Operating Instructions
4.1 Basic Playback
- Ensure the player is powered on.
- Insert a CD as described in Section 3.2.
- Press the PLAY/PAUSE button to start playback.
- To pause, press the PLAY/PAUSE button again. Press it once more to resume.
- To stop playback, press the STOP button.
4.2 Volume Control
Adjust the volume using the electronic volume controls on the remote control or the dedicated volume buttons on the player.
4.3 Track Navigation
- Press the SKIP FORWARD button to advance to the next track.
- Press the SKIP BACKWARD button to return to the beginning of the current track. Press it twice to go to the previous track.

6. Troubleshooting
6.1 No Power
