Setup

Charging the Trimmer

The Andis Slimline Pro Li Trimmer features a powerful lithium-ion battery that provides up to 2 hours of run-time on a 2-1/4 hour charge. Before first use, fully charge the trimmer.

1. Connect the charging adapter to the charger stand.
2. Plug the adapter into a suitable electrical outlet.
3. Place the trimmer into the charger stand. The indicator light on the trimmer will illuminate green to show it is charging.
4. Once fully charged, the light will remain green or turn off, depending on the model.

Blade Adjustment (Zero-Gapping)

The T-blade can be adjusted for a closer cut, often referred to as "zero-gapping." This procedure should be performed with caution to avoid injury.

1. Ensure the trimmer is turned off and unplugged from the charging base.
2. Using a small screwdriver, carefully loosen the two screws on the back of the blade assembly.
3. Gently adjust the moving blade (the smaller blade) so that its cutting edge is aligned with, or slightly below, the stationary blade (the larger blade). Ensure the teeth of the moving blade do not extend beyond the stationary blade to prevent skin irritation.
4. Once aligned, carefully tighten the screws. Test the trimmer on a small area of skin to ensure it cuts smoothly without irritation.

Operating Instructions

The Andis Slimline Pro Li Trimmer is designed for detailed work on hair, beards, and mustaches, including fading, outlining, and general trimming.

General Trimming

1. Ensure the trimmer is fully charged or connected to power if using corded.
2. Select the desired attachment comb for your preferred hair length. Snap the comb securely onto the blade.
3. Turn the trimmer on using the power switch.
4. Hold the trimmer with the blade flat against the skin or at a slight angle, depending on the desired cut.
5. Move the trimmer against the direction of hair growth for an even cut.
6. For edging and outlining, remove the attachment comb and use the bare T-blade. Carefully define hairlines, beard lines, and trim around ears.

Corded/Cordless Operation

This trimmer offers the flexibility of both corded and cordless operation. Use it cordless for maximum maneuverability, or plug it in for continuous power during longer grooming sessions.

Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your trimmer.

Cleaning the Blades

1. After each use, turn off and unplug the trimmer.
2. Use the provided blade brush to remove any loose hair from the blades.
3. For a more thorough cleaning, you may carefully remove the blade assembly (refer to Blade Adjustment section for screw locations) and brush away trapped hair. Reattach securely.

Oiling the Blades

To maintain cutting performance and extend blade life, oil the blades before every use.

1. With the trimmer turned off, apply 2-3 drops of Andis Clipper Oil (or a similar high-quality blade oil) across the teeth of the blade.
2. Turn the trimmer on for a few seconds to allow the oil to distribute evenly.
3. Wipe off any excess oil with a clean, soft cloth.
