• Do not operate the water heater if it is damaged or has been submerged in water.
• For your safety, a temperature-and-pressure relief valve is included and must be installed.
• Per industry standards, inspect the anode rod annually and replace it at the first sign of degradation. Failure to replace the anode rod may cause the tank to fail and leak. Damage caused to the product, and any subsequent property damage, resulting from not maintaining the anode rod is not covered under the manufacturer’s warranty.

3. Setup and Installation

The BOSCH Tronic 3000 T is designed for flexible installation. It can be shelf, wall, or floor mounted (bracket included). It plugs directly into a standard 120-volt outlet, making independent installation straightforward. It can also be installed in-line with a larger hot water source to provide instant hot water.

4. Operating Instructions

The Tronic 3000 T provides on-demand hot water, eliminating long waits at your sink. It can supply hot water to up to two sinks simultaneously.

Temperature Control: An external dial on the front of the unit allows you to easily control the temperature range. Rotate the dial to your desired setting. The unit will heat water to the set temperature and maintain it.

5. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and efficient operation of your water heater.

• Anode Rod Inspection: Inspect the anode rod annually and replace it at the first sign of degradation. This helps prevent corrosion of the tank.
• Cleaning: Periodically wipe down the exterior of the unit with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners.
• Drainage: If the unit is to be out of service for an extended period or in an area subject to freezing temperatures, drain the tank completely.

This section provides solutions to common issues you might encounter.

• Leaking:
  • Check water fittings and the Temperature & Pressure (T&P) fitting on top of the tank for tightness.
  • Remove the front cover and inspect the heating element gasket.
  • If the tank itself is leaking, contact Bosch Water Heating for warranty claim if within the warranty period.
  • Check the anode rod (refer to the maintenance section on changing the anode rod).
• Water Does Not Get Hot:
  • Ensure the power supply is on and working. Check the circuit breaker.
  • If the indicator light works properly but temperature does not get hot at the tap, test for a plumbing crossover; shut off cold supply to heater and open hot water tap. There should be no water flowing. Any continued flow indicates a crossover which will affect the temperature and will need to be corrected.
  • Call a qualified service technician to test the resistance of the heating element (expected 8-10 ohms). The heating element should be replaced if readings are outside these values.
