Product Overview

The OEM Portable CD Player (Model: ASC704604AIN02) is designed for listening to audio CDs and FM radio on the go. It features a compact design, anti-skip protection, and programmable track memory. This device operates on batteries and includes a set of stereo earbuds for immediate use.

Setup

Unpacking

Carefully remove the CD player and all accessories from the packaging. Verify that all components are present: the portable CD player unit and stereo earbuds.

Powering the Device (Battery Installation)

  1. Locate the battery compartment on the underside of the CD player.
  2. Slide the battery compartment cover open.
  3. Insert two (2) AA batteries (not included) into the compartment, ensuring correct polarity (+ and -) as indicated inside the compartment.
  4. Close the battery compartment cover securely.

Note: Always use fresh batteries for optimal performance. Remove batteries if the device will not be used for an extended period.

Connecting Earbuds

Plug the 3.5mm audio jack of the included stereo earbuds into the headphone jack located on the side of the CD player. Ensure the plug is fully inserted.

Operating Instructions

Playing a CD

  1. Gently press the "OPEN" button or slide the latch to open the CD compartment lid.
  2. Place an audio CD onto the center spindle, label side facing up. Gently press down on the center of the CD until it clicks into place.
  3. Close the CD compartment lid firmly until it latches.
  4. Press the PLAY/PAUSE button (/) to begin playback. The track number and elapsed time will display on the LCD screen.
  5. To pause playback, press the PLAY/PAUSE button again. Press it once more to resume.
  6. To skip to the next track, press the SKIP FORWARD button (►►|). To go back to the beginning of the current track or the previous track, press the SKIP BACKWARD button (|◄◄).
  7. To stop playback, press the STOP button ().

The player features 60-second anti-skip protection to prevent interruptions during movement. This feature buffers audio data to ensure smooth playback.

Using the FM Radio

  1. Ensure no CD is playing.
  2. Press the MODE button (if available, or power on and it defaults to radio if no CD).
  3. Use the TUNE UP or TUNE DOWN buttons (often integrated with skip buttons) to find your desired FM station.
  4. Extend the earbud cable as much as possible, as it acts as the FM antenna.

Volume Control

Adjust the volume using the analog volume control dial located on the side or front of the unit. Rotate clockwise to increase volume and counter-clockwise to decrease volume.

Programmable Tracks

This CD player allows you to program up to 20 tracks to play in a specific order.

  1. With the CD stopped, press the PROGRAM button. The display will show "P01" and flash.
  2. Use the SKIP FORWARD or SKIP BACKWARD buttons to select the first track you wish to program.
  3. Press the PROGRAM button again to confirm the selection. The display will show "P02" and flash.
  4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 to select up to 20 tracks.
  5. After programming all desired tracks, press the PLAY/PAUSE button to start playback of the programmed sequence.
  6. To clear the program, open the CD compartment or press the STOP button twice.

Cleaning

Battery Replacement

Replace batteries when the sound becomes distorted, the display dims, or the unit stops functioning. Refer to the "Powering the Device" section for battery installation instructions.

Storage

When not in use, store the CD player in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, extreme temperatures, and excessive dust. Remove batteries if storing for an extended period to prevent leakage.

Troubleshooting

Problem Possible Cause Solution
No power / Unit does not turn on. Batteries are dead or incorrectly inserted. Replace with fresh AA batteries, ensuring correct polarity.
CD does not play / "NO DISC" error. CD is dirty, scratched, or inserted incorrectly. CD compartment lid is not closed. Clean the CD with a soft cloth. Re-insert the CD correctly. Ensure the CD compartment lid is fully closed and latched.
Sound skipping or distorted. CD is dirty or scratched. Unit is subject to excessive vibration. Low batteries. Clean the CD. Avoid strong vibrations. Replace batteries.
Poor FM radio reception. Earbud cable not fully extended. Weak signal in current location. Fully extend the earbud cable, as it acts as the antenna. Try moving to a different location.
No sound from earbuds. Earbuds not fully plugged in. Volume too low. Faulty earbuds. Ensure earbuds are fully inserted. Increase volume. Test with another pair of earbuds if available.
