  • Unplug from outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow to cool before putting on or taking off parts, and before cleaning the appliance.
  • Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug or after the appliance malfunctions, or has been damaged in any manner. Return appliance to the nearest authorized service facility for examination, repair, or adjustment.
  • The use of accessory attachments not recommended by the appliance manufacturer may result in fire, electric shock, or injury to persons.
  • Do not use outdoors.

Setup

  1. Unpack: Carefully remove all packaging materials and ensure all parts are present.
  2. Clean: Before first use, clean the bean hopper, bean hopper lid, ground coffee container, and ground coffee container lid with warm soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry completely.
  3. Assemble: Place the clean and dry ground coffee container into its designated slot at the base of the grinder. Ensure the bean hopper lid is securely in place on top of the bean hopper.
  4. Add Beans: Open the bean hopper lid and pour whole coffee beans into the hopper. Do not overfill beyond the MAX line. Close the lid securely.
  5. Power Connection: Plug the grinder into a standard electrical outlet.

Operation

  1. Select Grind Fineness: Use the grind setting dial on the side of the machine to choose your desired fineness. Turn the dial towards "FINE" for espresso or Turkish coffee, "MEDIUM" for drip coffee, and "COARSE" for French press. There are 16 distinct settings.

Helpful Hint to Reduce Static: After grinding, wait a few seconds. Tap the back of the grinder a few times. Remove the ground coffee container slowly from the base.

Cleaning and Maintenance

Regular cleaning ensures optimal performance and extends the life of your grinder. Always unplug the grinder before cleaning.

  1. Empty Containers: Remove and empty the bean hopper and ground coffee container.
  2. Clean Containers: Wash the bean hopper, bean hopper lid, ground coffee container, and ground coffee container lid with warm soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry completely. These parts are generally top-rack dishwasher safe, but hand washing is recommended for longevity.
  3. Clean Grinding Chamber:
    • Remove Upper Burr: Twist the upper burr counter-clockwise to unlock and lift it out.
    • Brush Clean: Use the provided cleaning brush (or a small, stiff brush) to remove any residual coffee grounds from the upper burr and the lower burr inside the grinding chamber. Also, brush out the coffee chute where grounds exit.
    • Wipe Down: Wipe the exterior of the grinder with a damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or immerse the main unit in water.

  4. Reassemble: Once all parts are clean and dry, reinsert the upper burr by aligning it and twisting clockwise until it locks into place. Replace the bean hopper lid and ground coffee container.

Troubleshooting

  • Grinder does not start:
    • Ensure the power cord is securely plugged into a working outlet.
    • Verify that the bean hopper lid and ground coffee container are correctly and securely in place. The grinder has a dual safety system that prevents operation if these components are not engaged.
  • Grinder stops during operation or grinds inconsistently:
    • Check for blockages in the coffee chute or around the burrs. Unplug the unit and clean thoroughly as described in the "Cleaning and Maintenance" section.
    • Ensure the bean hopper is not empty.
  • Excessive static cling of ground coffee:
    • After grinding, wait a few seconds before removing the ground coffee container.
    • Tap the back of the grinder a few times to dislodge any clinging grounds.
    • Remove the ground coffee container slowly from the base.
