2. Safety Information

3. Product Overview

4. Setup
4.1. Unpacking
Carefully unpack the radio and all accessories. The package should contain:

4.2. Battery Installation
- Align the battery pack with the grooves on the back of the radio.
- Slide the battery pack upwards until it clicks into place.
- To remove, press the battery release latch (if present) and slide the battery downwards.

4.3. Antenna Attachment
- Screw the antenna into the connector on the top of the radio by turning it clockwise until it is finger-tight.
- Do not overtighten the antenna.
4.4. Charging the Battery
Before initial use, fully charge the battery. The radio can be charged by placing it in the desktop charger.
- Connect the AC adapter to the desktop charger and plug it into a power outlet.
- Place the radio (with battery installed) into the charging slot of the desktop charger.
- The charger's LED indicator will typically show red during charging and turn green when fully charged.

5. Operating Instructions
5.1. Power On/Off and Volume Adjustment
- To power on the radio, rotate the Power & Volume Knob clockwise until you hear a click. The LCD display will light up.
- To adjust the volume, continue rotating the Power & Volume Knob. Clockwise increases volume, counter-clockwise decreases it.
- To power off, rotate the Power & Volume Knob counter-clockwise until you hear a click and the display turns off.
5.2. Channel Selection
Rotate the Channel Selector Knob on the top of the radio to select the desired channel. The selected channel number will be displayed on the LCD screen.
5.3. Transmitting and Receiving
- To transmit, press and hold the PTT (Push-To-Talk) key on the side of the radio. Speak clearly into the microphone. The LED indicator will glow red.
- Release the PTT key to stop transmitting and return to receive mode. The LED indicator will glow green when a signal is being received.
5.4. Basic Menu Navigation
The radio features a menu system for advanced settings. Use the 'FUN' and 'MENU' buttons along with the arrow keys (◀ ▶) to navigate.
- Press the MENU button to enter the main menu.
- Use the ◀ and ▶ arrow keys to scroll through menu options.
- Press MENU again to select an option or confirm a setting.
- Press the FUN button to exit the menu or cancel an operation.
5.5. Keypad Functions
The numeric keypad provides direct access to certain functions and allows for frequency input in VFO mode.
- 1SOL: Squelch Level adjustment.

- 5VOX: Activates Voice Operated Exchange (VOX) for hands-free transmission.
- 6%‰CC: CTCSS/DCS settings for tone squelch.

- 8DCS: DCS code selection.
- 9SCAN: Initiates channel or frequency scanning.
- #REV: Reverses transmit and receive frequencies (for repeater use).

6. Maintenance
6.1. Cleaning
