Setup and Installation
Follow these steps for proper installation of your Foset VW-205 fill valve:
- Turn off Water Supply: Locate the water supply valve behind or near the toilet and turn it clockwise until the water flow stops.
- Flush Toilet: Flush the toilet to empty the tank. Hold the handle down to drain as much water as possible.
- Remove Old Fill Valve: Disconnect the water supply line from the bottom of the old fill valve. Use a wrench if necessary. Unscrew the mounting nut from underneath the tank and remove the old fill valve.
- Install New Fill Valve: Insert the new Foset VW-205 fill valve into the hole at the bottom of the toilet tank. Ensure the rubber gasket is properly seated on the outside of the tank.
- Secure the Valve: From underneath the tank, hand-tighten the mounting nut onto the threaded shank of the fill valve. Do not overtighten.
- Connect Water Supply: Reconnect the water supply line to the bottom of the new fill valve. Hand-tighten, then use a wrench for a final quarter-turn, being careful not to overtighten.
- Adjust Height: The valve's height is adjustable. Adjust the valve stem to ensure the float cup clears the tank lid and the critical level mark is above the overflow pipe. The adjustable range is typically 24 cm to 32 cm.
- Attach Refill Tube: Connect the small refill tube from the fill valve to the overflow pipe. This tube directs water into the bowl during the refill cycle.
- Turn on Water Supply: Slowly turn the water supply valve counter-clockwise to restore water flow to the tank. Check for leaks.
- Adjust Water Level: Allow the tank to fill. The water level should be approximately 1 inch below the top of the overflow pipe. Adjust the float cup mechanism on the fill valve to achieve the desired water level.

Operation
The Foset VW-205 fill valve operates automatically to refill your toilet tank after each flush. When the toilet is flushed, the water level in the tank drops, causing the float cup on the fill valve to descend. This opens the valve, allowing fresh water to enter the tank and the refill tube to replenish the toilet bowl. As the water level rises, the float cup lifts, gradually closing the valve until the preset water level is reached, at which point the water flow stops.
Maintenance
Regular maintenance helps ensure the longevity and efficient operation of your fill valve:
- Sediment Filter Cleaning: The fill valve includes a sediment filter. If you notice slow filling or reduced water flow, the filter may be clogged. Turn off the water supply, remove the fill valve, and clean the filter under running water. Reinstall the valve.
- Inspect for Leaks: Periodically check for any signs of leaks around the base of the fill valve or the water supply connection. Tighten connections if necessary, but do not overtighten.
- Check Water Level: Ensure the water level in the tank remains consistent, approximately 1 inch below the top of the overflow pipe. Adjust the float cup if the water level is too high or too low.
