Setup

Operating Instructions
- Heat Water: Heat fresh water to approximately 200°F (93°C), just below boiling.
- Add Coffee Grounds: Add coarse-ground coffee to the bottom of the French press. A general guideline is 1 tablespoon of coffee for every 4 ounces of water, but adjust to your preference.
- Pour Water: Pour the hot water evenly over the coffee grounds. Ensure all grounds are saturated.
- Stir: Gently stir the coffee and water with a non-metallic spoon (plastic or wooden) to ensure even extraction.
- Place Plunger: Place the plunger assembly on top of the press, but do not press down yet. Ensure the filters are above the water level.
- Steep: Allow the coffee to steep for 3-5 minutes, depending on desired strength.
- Press: Slowly and steadily press the plunger down. The double micro-filter will separate the grounds from the brewed coffee, stopping extraction.

Cleaning and Maintenance
- Empty Grounds: After brewing, remove the plunger and discard the used coffee grounds.
- Disassemble Filter: Twist the filter components to separate them from the plunger rod for thorough cleaning.

Troubleshooting
- Grit in Coffee: Ensure coffee grounds are coarse. Finer grounds can pass through the micro-filters. Verify the filter assembly is tightly secured.
- Weak Coffee: Increase the amount of coffee grounds or extend steeping time. Ensure water temperature is adequate (around 200°F).
- Bitter Coffee: Reduce steeping time or use slightly cooler water. Ensure coffee grounds are not too fine. The double filter is designed to prevent over-extraction once pressed.
- Plunger Difficult to Press: This usually indicates grounds are too fine or too much coffee has been used. Adjust grind size or coffee quantity. Do not force the plunger.
