Voltage Selection (for travel):

This appliance features dual voltage for international use. A small screw at the bottom front allows you to switch between 125V and 250V. Ensure you select the correct voltage for the region you are in. When set to 250V, the power switch may only operate on the low setting, but it will provide heat similar to the high setting at 125V due to increased voltage.

Note: An appropriate plug adapter may be required for different countries.

Operating Instructions

The Conair Hot Air Curling Combo is designed for use on damp, towel-dried hair. It can also be used to refresh dry hair between washes.

General Styling Steps:

  1. Ensure your hair is towel-dried and detangled. For best results, hair should be slightly damp, not dripping wet.
  2. Select the desired brush attachment (1-inch for tighter curls/smoothing, 1.5-inch for larger curls/volume) and securely attach it to the styler.
  3. Plug the appliance into an appropriate electrical outlet.
  4. Turn the appliance ON using the switch. The styler typically has a "HI" setting for heat and speed.
  5. Section your hair. Work with small to medium sections for optimal results.
  6. Place the brush near the roots of a hair section and slowly glide it down towards the ends, rotating the brush as you go to create desired curl or volume.
  7. For smoothing and volumizing, guide the brush through your hair, lifting at the roots for added body.
  8. To create curls, wrap a section of hair around the brush, hold for a few seconds, then gently unroll.
  9. Repeat for all sections of hair until desired style is achieved.
  10. After styling, turn the appliance OFF and unplug it from the outlet. Allow the styler and attachments to cool completely before storing.

Tip: For long-lasting styles, allow each section of hair to cool before moving to the next. This helps set the curl or volume.

Maintenance and Care

Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your Conair Hot Air Curling Combo.

Cleaning Instructions:

  1. Always ensure the appliance is unplugged and completely cool before cleaning.
  2. Use a soft, damp cloth to wipe down the exterior of the styler handle. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  3. To clean the brush attachments, carefully remove any trapped hair or debris from the bristles. A small comb or brush can be used for this purpose.
  4. Do not immerse the appliance or any attachments in water or any other liquid.
  5. Ensure all parts are thoroughly dry before reassembling or storing.

Storage:

  • When not in use, unplug the appliance.
  • Allow the styler to cool completely before storing.
  • Store the appliance and its attachments in a dry location, out of reach of children.
  • Do not wrap the cord around the appliance. Hang or coil the cord loosely.

Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your Conair Hot Air Curling Combo, refer to the following common troubleshooting steps:

  • Appliance does not turn on:
    • Ensure the appliance is securely plugged into a working electrical outlet.
    • Check the power switch on the handle to ensure it is in the "HI" position.
    • Verify that the circuit breaker has not tripped.
  • Appliance is not heating or airflow is weak:
    • Ensure the air inlet filter (usually at the back of the handle) is not blocked by lint or hair. Clean if necessary.
    • Confirm the voltage selector (if applicable for travel) is set correctly for your region.
    • If the appliance has an overheating protection feature, it may have temporarily shut off. Unplug it and allow it to cool for several minutes before trying again.
  • Brush attachment is loose:
    • Ensure the brush is fully pushed onto the styler handle until it clicks.
    • Slide the "LOCK" switch to the "LOCK" position to secure the attachment.
