4. Setup Guide
4.1. Powering On and Charging
- Initial Charge: Before first use, fully charge the printer's lithium battery using the provided Euro adapter and USB cable. The "CHARGE" indicator light will show charging status.
- Battery Installation: Ensure the battery is correctly inserted into the battery compartment. Refer to the diagram below for proper orientation.
- Power On/Off: Press and hold the power button (Ⓞ) for a few seconds to turn the printer on or off.

4.2. Loading Thermal Paper
- Open Cover: Gently push the cover release button (if present) or lift the top cover of the printer.
- Insert Paper Roll: Place the thermal paper roll into the compartment with the printing side facing the print head. Ensure the paper feeds smoothly.
- Close Cover: Pull a small amount of paper out past the cutter and close the cover firmly until it clicks into place.

4.3. Connectivity
4.3.1. Bluetooth Connection (for Android Devices)
The printer is primarily designed for use with Android-based mobile phones and tablets.
- Enable Bluetooth: Turn on Bluetooth on your Android device.
- Printer Pairing Mode: Ensure the printer is powered on. It should automatically be discoverable.
- Search & Pair: On your Android device, search for available Bluetooth devices. Select the printer (usually named "Printer" or similar, check the printer's self-test page for exact name).
- Enter Passkey: If prompted, enter the default passkey (commonly "0000" or "1234").
- Software Requirement: Note: You must have your own printing software or a compatible third-party application installed on your Android device to send print jobs to this printer. This printer does not come with a dedicated Android printing application.
4.3.2. USB Connection
The printer can also be connected to a computer via the provided USB cable.
- Connect Cable: Plug one end of the USB cable into the printer's USB port and the other end into your computer's USB port.
- Driver Installation: Install the printer drivers from the included Driver CD. Follow the on-screen instructions.
- Compatibility Note: This printer is not compatible with iPhone, iPad, or Mac iOS systems. It is designed for Android and Windows operating systems.

5. Operating Instructions
5.1. Basic Printing
- Ensure the printer is powered on and connected via Bluetooth or USB.
- Open your printing application on your Android device or computer.
- Select the Excelvan printer from the list of available printers within your application.
- Send the print command from your application. The printer will begin printing.
- After printing, tear the receipt against the serrated edge.
5.2. Control Panel Indicators and Buttons
- CHARGE Indicator: Lights up when the printer is charging.
- ERROR Indicator: Lights up to indicate an error (e.g., paper out, print head overheating).
- MODE Button: Used for changing printer modes or printing self-test pages. Consult the detailed manual on the Driver CD for specific functions.
- FEED Button: Press to manually feed paper.
- Power Button (Ⓞ): Turns the printer on/off.
6. Maintenance
6.1. Cleaning the Print Head
Regular cleaning of the print head ensures clear and consistent print quality. Clean the print head if print quality degrades or after every few rolls of paper.
- Turn off the printer and disconnect the power adapter.
- Open the paper compartment cover.
- Use a cotton swab lightly dampened with isopropyl alcohol (do not use water or other solvents) to gently wipe the print head surface.
- Allow the print head to dry completely before closing the cover and powering on the printer.
6.2. Battery Care
- Avoid fully discharging the battery frequently.
- If storing the printer for an extended period, charge the battery to about 50% and store in a cool, dry place. Recharge every 3-6 months.
- Use only the original charger provided with the printer.
6.3. Paper Storage
Store thermal paper in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat sources to prevent premature fading of prints.
