Proper installation is crucial for the safe and efficient operation of your water heater. It is highly recommended that installation be performed by a qualified professional.

2.1 Mounting the Water Heater

  1. Select a suitable wall location capable of supporting the water heater's weight when full (approximately 45 kg for the 30-liter model).
  2. Mark the positions for the mounting brackets on the wall. Ensure the marks are level and correctly spaced according to the unit's dimensions.

2.2 Water Connections

  1. Identify the cold water inlet (usually marked blue or with a blue ring) and the hot water outlet (usually marked red or with a red ring). Both connections are 1/2 G.
  2. Install the non-return safety valve on the cold water inlet pipe. This valve prevents water backflow and excessive pressure buildup.
  3. Connect the cold water supply line to the inlet and the hot water output line to the outlet. Use appropriate plumbing fittings and ensure all connections are watertight.
  4. Open the main water supply and check for any leaks. Allow the tank to fill completely before proceeding to electrical connection.

2.3 Electrical Connection

  1. Ensure the water heater is properly grounded to prevent electrical hazards.
  2. Connect the water heater to a dedicated electrical circuit with appropriate voltage and current ratings (1500W).
  3. Verify that all electrical connections are secure and comply with local electrical codes.

3. Operating Instructions

Once installed and filled with water, your Tornado Electric Water Heater is ready for operation.

3.1 Powering On and Off

  • To turn on the water heater, ensure it is plugged into a suitable power outlet and the main power switch (if applicable) is in the 'ON' position.

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and efficiency of your water heater.

4.1 General Cleaning

  • These anode rods should be inspected annually by a qualified technician and replaced if significantly depleted.

4.3 Draining the Tank

  • If the water heater will be out of use for an extended period or in areas prone to freezing, the tank should be drained.
  • Turn off the power supply to the water heater.
  • Close the cold water inlet valve.
  • Open a hot water faucet in your home to relieve pressure.
  • Connect a hose to the drain valve at the bottom of the water heater and direct it to a suitable drain.
  • Open the drain valve and allow all water to empty from the tank.

4.4 Safety Valve Check

  • Periodically check the non-return safety valve for proper operation. Refer to the safety valve manufacturer's instructions for specific testing procedures.
