Setup and Installation

Follow these steps for proper installation of your transformer:

Choose a Location: Select a suitable outdoor location near a GFCI (Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter) protected 120V AC outlet. The location should be easily accessible, well-ventilated, and protected from direct sprinkler spray. Mount the transformer at least 1 foot above ground level.

Mount the Transformer: Use the provided mounting hardware to securely attach the transformer to a wall or sturdy post. Ensure it is level and firmly fixed.

Connect Low-Voltage Cables: Route your low-voltage landscape lighting cables from your fixtures to the transformer's low-voltage terminals. Strip approximately 1/2 inch of insulation from the cable ends and securely connect them to the 12V output terminals. Ensure a tight connection to prevent voltage drop.
Plug In: Once all low-voltage connections are made and verified, plug the transformer's power cord into the GFCI-protected 120V AC outlet.

Operating Instructions

The Sollos transformer features a built-in photocell and timer for automated operation. The control panel consists of a digital display and two arrow buttons (Up/Down) for setting modes.

Setting the Operating Mode:

Press the Up or Down arrow button to cycle through the available operating modes displayed on the digital screen:

ON: Lights remain on continuously.
AUTO (Photocell): Lights turn on automatically at dusk and turn off at dawn. The integrated photocell detects ambient light levels.
TIMER (1-7 Hours): Lights turn on automatically at dusk and remain on for the selected duration (1 to 7 hours). Use the arrow buttons to adjust the hour setting.
OFF: Lights remain off.

Photocell Operation:

Ensure the photocell sensor (small circular sensor on the control panel) is not obstructed by dirt, debris, or direct light sources (e.g., porch lights) that could interfere with its operation.

Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and longevity of your transformer:

Cleaning: Periodically wipe the exterior of the transformer with a soft, damp cloth to remove dirt and dust. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
Photocell: Keep the photocell sensor clean and free from obstructions to ensure accurate dusk-to-dawn operation.
Connections: Annually inspect all low-voltage cable connections for corrosion or looseness. Tighten as necessary.
Ventilation: Ensure the transformer's ventilation openings are clear of debris to prevent overheating.

Troubleshooting
