Setup

The GR-1412H Tube Screen Grate is designed for direct placement within compatible deep fat fryers. No assembly is required for this product.

  1. Ensure the deep fat fryer (Adcraft GF-90 or GF-120) is clean and free from debris before installation.
  2. Carefully lower the screen grate into the fryer's oil well, ensuring it sits flat at the bottom.
  3. Verify that the grate is securely positioned and does not obstruct any heating elements or sensors within the fryer.

Operating Instructions

The screen grate functions as a filter to prevent larger food particles from reaching the heating elements of the deep fryer, thereby extending the life of the cooking oil and the fryer itself.

  1. After placing the grate, fill the fryer with cooking oil to the manufacturer's recommended level.
  2. Operate the deep fryer according to its specific manufacturer's instructions.
  3. The grate will collect food debris during frying, which can be removed during the cleaning process.

Note: Always ensure the fryer is turned off and completely cooled before handling the grate or performing any maintenance.

Maintenance and Cleaning

Regular cleaning of the screen grate is essential for optimal performance, hygiene, and to prolong the life of the product.

  1. Allow the deep fryer and cooking oil to cool completely before attempting to remove the grate.
  2. Carefully remove the screen grate from the fryer.
  3. Scrape off any accumulated food particles or debris using a suitable utensil.
  4. Wash the grate thoroughly with hot, soapy water. A stiff brush may be used to remove stubborn residue from the mesh.
  5. Rinse the grate completely under running water to remove all soap residue.
  6. Dry the grate thoroughly before returning it to the fryer or storing it to prevent water spots or potential corrosion.

Caution: Do not use abrasive cleaners, steel wool, or scouring pads that could damage the nickel-plated finish of the grate.

Troubleshooting

Grate does not fit:

Ensure you have the correct model (GR-1412H) for your Adcraft GF-90 or GF-120 deep fat fryer. Verify the dimensions (13-1/2 inches x 11-1/2 inches) against your fryer's specifications.

Excessive debris accumulation:

This is normal operation. The grate is designed to collect debris. Increase the frequency of cleaning as needed based on usage and the type of food being fried.

Grate appears discolored or corroded:

Ensure proper cleaning and thorough drying after each use. Avoid harsh chemicals or prolonged exposure to acidic substances. If corrosion is significant, replacement may be necessary to maintain food safety standards.
