3.2 Initial Configuration (Web Interface)
After hardware connection, configure the modem router via its web-based management interface.
- Access Web Browser: Open a web browser (e.g., Chrome, Firefox) on a computer connected to the modem router.
- Enter IP Address: In the address bar, type http://tplinkmodem.net or http://192.168.1.1 and press Enter.
- Login: A login window will appear. The default username and password are both admin (all lowercase).
- Run Quick Setup: Upon successful login, the Quick Setup wizard will guide you through the initial configuration steps, including:
- Region/Time Zone Selection: Select your geographical region and time zone.
- ISP Settings: Enter the VDSL/ADSL connection parameters provided by your Internet Service Provider (ISP). This typically includes VPI/VCI, connection type (e.g., PPPoE, Dynamic IP), username, and password.
- Wireless Settings: Configure your wireless network name (SSID) and password.
- Save and Reboot: Save your settings and allow the modem router to reboot.

4. Operating Instructions
4.1 Wireless Network Configuration
To modify wireless settings after initial setup:
- Log in to the web management interface.
- Navigate to Wireless > Wireless Settings.
- You can change the Wireless Network Name (SSID), Channel, and Mode.
- Go to Wireless > Wireless Security to set or change your wireless password (WPA/WPA2-Personal is recommended).

4.2 USB Features
The USB 2.0 port supports various functions:

5. Maintenance
5.1 Firmware Update

- Navigate to System Tools > Firmware Upgrade.

5.2 Regular Reboot

6. Troubleshooting
6.1 No Internet Access
- Check LED Indicators: Ensure the Power, DSL, and Internet LEDs are solid green. If the DSL LED is blinking or off, check the phone line connection. If the Internet LED is off, verify your ISP settings in the web interface.
- Verify Cables: Ensure all cables are securely connected.
- ISP Settings: Confirm that the VDSL/ADSL settings (VPI/VCI, connection type, username, password) are correctly entered in the modem router's configuration. Contact your ISP if unsure.
- Reboot: Reboot the modem router and your computer.
6.2 Wireless Network Not Visible or Connecting
- Wi-Fi On/Off Button: Ensure the Wi-Fi On/Off button on the rear panel is enabled. The WLAN LED should be lit.
- SSID Broadcast: Check if SSID Broadcast is enabled under Wireless > Wireless Settings.
- Wireless Password: Verify that you are entering the correct wireless password.
- Channel Interference: Try changing the wireless channel in the web interface (Wireless > Wireless Settings) to avoid interference.
6.3 Slow Internet Speed
- ISP Bandwidth: Confirm your subscribed internet speed with your ISP.
- Wireless Interference: Reduce interference by moving the modem router away from other electronic devices or changing the wireless channel.
- Firmware: Ensure the modem router has the latest firmware.
- Cable Quality: Check the quality of your Ethernet and phone cables.
6.4 Factory Reset
If problems persist, you may need to restore the modem router to its factory default settings. This will erase all custom configurations.
- With the modem router powered on, press and hold the WPS/Reset button on the rear panel for approximately 8-10 seconds until all LEDs flash briefly.
