Getting Started

Initial Setup

Upon receiving your Timex Marathon watch, you may need to set the time and date. The watch typically comes with a battery installed.

Operating Instructions

Time Display and INDIGLO

In normal time mode, the watch displays the current time, day of the week, and date. To activate the INDIGLO night-light, press the INDIGLO button (usually bottom-right). The display will illuminate for a few seconds, allowing for easy reading in low-light conditions.

Using the Stopwatch (Chrono)

1. Access Stopwatch Mode: Press the MODE button repeatedly until "CHRONO" or "STP" appears on the display.
2. Start/Stop: Press the START/STOP button to begin timing. Press it again to pause the stopwatch.
3. Reset: While the stopwatch is paused, press and hold the SET button to reset the stopwatch to zero.

Setting and Using the Alarm

1. Access Alarm Mode: Press the MODE button repeatedly until "ALARM" or "AL" appears on the display.
2. Set Alarm Time: Press and hold the SET button until the alarm time digits flash. Use the START/STOP button to adjust the flashing digit (hours, minutes). Use the MODE button to switch between hours and minutes.
3. Activate/Deactivate Alarm: In alarm mode, press the START/STOP button to toggle the alarm on or off. An alarm icon (e.g., a bell) will appear on the display when activated.
4. Save Settings: Press the SET button to confirm and exit alarm setting.
5. Snooze/Stop Alarm: When the alarm sounds, press any button to stop it. Some models may have a snooze function by pressing a specific button (refer to the full user manual if available).

Dual Time Zone (T2)

The watch allows you to set and view a second time zone.

1. Access Dual Time Mode: Press the MODE button repeatedly until "T2" or "DUAL TIME" appears on the display.
2. Set T2 Time: Press and hold the SET button until the T2 time digits flash. Adjust the time using the START/STOP and MODE buttons, similar to setting the main time.
3. Save Settings: Press the SET button to confirm and exit T2 setting.

Maintenance and Care

• Cleaning: Clean your watch regularly with a soft, damp cloth. For resin straps, mild soap and water can be used. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
• Water Resistance: The watch is water-resistant to 50 meters. This means it is suitable for recreational swimming and showering. Do not press any buttons while the watch is submerged or wet, as this can compromise the water resistance. Avoid hot water or steam, which can damage seals.
• Battery Replacement: The watch uses a Lithium Metal battery (included). When the display dims or functions become erratic, it may be time for a battery replacement. It is recommended to have the battery replaced by a qualified watch technician to ensure proper sealing and water resistance.
