1. Introduction

This manual provides instructions for the proper setup, installation, and care of your Americanflat 11x14 Picture Frame. This frame is designed to display either an 11x14 inch photo without a mat or an 8x10 inch photo with the included mat. It features shatter-resistant glass and durable engineered wood construction.

2. Product Components

Your Americanflat 11x14 Picture Frame package includes the following components:

• 1 x 11x14 inch frame (Engineered Wood, Black finish)
• 1 x Shatter-resistant glass panel
• 1 x White mat (for 8x10 inch photos)
• 1 x Backboard with metal tab closures
• Built-in sawtooth hangers for wall mounting

3. Setup and Installation

3.1 Inserting Your Photo

1. Place the frame face down on a clean, soft surface to prevent scratches.
2. Locate the metal tab closures on the backboard. Gently rotate or bend these tabs to release the backboard.
3. Carefully remove the backboard and the mat (if present).
4. Decide whether to use the mat:
   • For an 8x10 inch photo: Place your photo behind the mat, ensuring it is centered within the mat's opening.
   • For an 11x14 inch photo: Remove the mat and place your photo directly against the glass.
5. Ensure the protective film is removed from both sides of the shatter-resistant glass for optimal clarity.
6. Carefully reinsert the mat (if used), your photo, and then the backboard into the frame.
7. Secure the backboard by rotating or bending the metal tabs back into place.

3.2 Mounting the Frame

The frame includes built-in sawtooth hangers for easy wall mounting. You can hang the frame in either portrait (vertical) or landscape (horizontal) orientation.

1. Determine your desired orientation (portrait or landscape).
2. Identify the appropriate sawtooth hanger(s) on the back of the frame for your chosen orientation.
3. Mark the desired location on your wall.
4. Install a nail or wall hook (not included) at the marked location, ensuring it is securely fastened and can support the weight of the frame.
5. Carefully hang the frame onto the nail/hook using the sawtooth hanger. Ensure the frame is level and stable.

4. Usage Guidelines

The Americanflat 11x14 Picture Frame offers flexibility in how you display your cherished photos or artwork:

• With Mat: Use the included white mat to highlight an 8x10 inch photo, creating a professional and aesthetically pleasing border.
• Without Mat: For larger prints, remove the mat to display an 11x14 inch photo, utilizing the full frame area.
• Orientation: The frame can be hung vertically or horizontally to best suit your photo and wall space.

5. Maintenance and Care

To ensure the longevity and appearance of your Americanflat picture frame, follow these care instructions:

• Handle with care to avoid accidental damage.
• Dust regularly with a soft, dry cloth to keep the frame and glass clean.
• Avoid using abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals on the frame or glass, as these may cause damage or discoloration.
• For stubborn smudges on the glass, use a mild glass cleaner applied to a soft cloth, then gently wipe the glass.

6. Troubleshooting

• Blurry or Hazy Glass: Ensure that the protective film has been completely removed from both sides of the shatter-resistant glass. This film is designed to prevent scratches during shipping and should be peeled off before use.
• Difficulty Opening Backboard: The metal tab closures are designed to hold the backboard securely. If they are stiff, use a flat tool (like a butter knife or a guitar pick, if available) to gently pry them up or rotate them. Avoid using excessive force to prevent damage.
• Frame Not Hanging Straight: Verify that the nail or hook on the wall is level and securely installed. Adjust the position of the frame on the sawtooth hanger as needed.
