Important Safety Information
WARNING: Failure to follow these instructions could result in fire hazard, injury, or property damage.
- Always burn candle within sight. Never leave a burning candle unattended.
- Keep burning candles away from flammable materials, such as curtains, bedding, paper, and decorations.
- Keep out of reach of children and pets.
- Place candle on a stable, heat-resistant surface. Avoid burning on or near anything that can catch fire.
- Do not burn candle for more than 4 hours at a time.
- Trim wick to 1/4 inch (6mm) before each lighting. Long wicks can cause high flames, smoking, or soot.
- Do not move a burning candle. Allow wax to cool and harden before moving.
- Extinguish candle if the flame becomes too high or flickers repeatedly. Let it cool, trim the wick, and then relight.
- Do not burn candle down to the very bottom of the container. Discontinue use when 1/2 inch (13mm) of wax remains to prevent heat damage to the container or surface.
- Avoid drafts, which can cause uneven burning, excessive smoking, or flame flare-ups.
Setup
- Unpack: Carefully remove the candle from its packaging.
- Inspect: Check the candle for any damage or cracks in the glass container. Do not use if damaged.
- Placement: Place the candle on a flat, stable, heat-resistant surface, away from anything flammable, drafts, children, and pets.
- Wick Trim: Ensure the wick is trimmed to approximately 1/4 inch (6mm) before the first burn.
Operating Instructions
- Lighting: Light the wick carefully with a long match or lighter.
- First Burn: For the first burn, allow the candle to burn until the entire top layer of wax has melted to the edges of the container. This typically takes 2-4 hours and helps prevent tunneling.
- Subsequent Burns: After the first burn, do not burn the candle for more than 4 hours at a time. This helps maintain the candle's integrity and scent throw.
- Extinguishing: Use a snuffer to extinguish the flame. Do not use the lid to extinguish the flame as this can cause soot to accumulate on the lid and potentially damage it.
Maintenance
- Wick Trimming: Before each use, trim the wick to 1/4 inch (6mm). This promotes a clean burn and prevents excessive soot.
- Keep Wax Pool Clean: Ensure no debris, such as wick trimmings or matches, accumulates in the wax pool.
- Storage: Store candles in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight or strong artificial light, to prevent discoloration and melting.
