3. Setup
3.1 Powering the Radio
The Sami RS-2929 radio can be powered by either AC mains electricity or batteries.
Battery Installation
- Locate the battery compartment cover on the back or side of the radio.
- Slide or unclip the cover to open the compartment.
- Insert two (2) 'UM-1' (D-size) batteries, ensuring the correct polarity (+ and -) as indicated inside the compartment. (Batteries are not included).
- Close the battery compartment cover securely.
AC Power Connection
- Ensure the radio is switched off.
- Connect the AC power cord (not included, if applicable) to the AC power input jack on the radio.
- Plug the other end of the AC power cord into a standard wall outlet.
- When using AC power, the batteries are automatically disconnected. Remove batteries if the radio will be unused for an extended period while connected to AC power.
4. Operation
4.1 Powering On/Off
Rotate the Volume Control knob clockwise to turn the radio on. Rotate it counter-clockwise until it clicks to turn the radio off.
4.2 Band Selection
Slide the Band Selector switch to choose your desired frequency band: AM, SW (Shortwave), or FM.
4.3 Tuning to a Station
- Extend the telescopic antenna fully for optimal FM and SW reception. For AM, the internal antenna is usually sufficient, but rotating the radio may improve reception.
- Slowly rotate the Tuning Dial to scan through the frequencies.
- Stop rotating when you hear your desired station clearly. Fine-tune for the best reception.
4.4 Volume Adjustment
Adjust the Volume Control knob to increase or decrease the sound level to your preference.
4.5 Using Headphones
To listen privately, plug a standard 3.5mm stereo headphone jack into the Headphone Input. The radio's speaker will automatically mute when headphones are connected.
