Basic Bread Making Process

  1. Insert Kneading Paddle: Place the kneading paddle(s) onto the shaft(s) inside the bread pan.

  3. Place Bread Pan: Insert the bread pan into the bread maker, pressing down firmly until it clicks into place. Close the lid.
  4. Select Program: Use the control panel to select the desired program (e.g., Basic, Whole Wheat, Dough). Refer to the program chart in your recipe book for details.
  5. Select Loaf Size and Crust Color: Adjust loaf size (e.g., 1.5 lb, 2 lb) and crust color (light, medium, dark) using the respective buttons.
  6. Start Cycle: Press the START/STOP button to begin the selected program. The LCD display will show the remaining time.
  7. Completion: A series of beeps will sound when the program is complete. Press and hold the START/STOP button to stop the cycle.
  8. Remove Bread: Carefully remove the bread pan using oven mitts. Invert the pan to release the bread. If the kneading paddle remains in the loaf, remove it carefully with a non-metallic utensil.
  9. Cooling: Allow the bread to cool on a wire rack for at least 30 minutes before slicing.

Using the Delay Timer

The delay timer allows you to program the bread maker to finish baking at a later time, up to 13 hours in advance. This feature is ideal for fresh bread in the morning.

  1. Add ingredients to the bread pan, ensuring yeast is kept separate from liquids (e.g., in a small indentation in the flour).
  2. Select your desired program, loaf size, and crust color.
  3. Use the TIMER buttons to set the desired delay time. The display will show the total time until completion.
  4. Press the START/STOP button. The timer will count down, and the bread maker will automatically begin the baking process at the appropriate time.

Note: Do not use the delay timer with recipes containing highly perishable ingredients like milk, eggs, or fresh fruit, as they may spoil.

Maintenance and Cleaning

  • Always unplug the bread maker from the power outlet and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.
  • Bread Pan and Kneading Paddle: Wash with warm, soapy water. For stubborn residue, soak the pan and paddle in warm water for 10-15 minutes. Do not use abrasive cleaners or metal scouring pads, as this can damage the non-stick coating.
  • Exterior: Wipe the exterior of the appliance with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
  • Interior: Wipe the interior of the baking chamber with a damp cloth. Remove any crumbs or spills.
  • Storage: Ensure all parts are clean and dry before storing the bread maker in a cool, dry place.
