1. Introduction
This manual provides comprehensive instructions for the safe and effective use, setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting of your Precor TRM 835 Commercial Series Treadmill with P30 Console. Please read this manual thoroughly before operating the equipment.
The Precor TRM 835 is engineered for commercial environments, offering durability and a low-impact workout experience. It features Integrated Footplant Technology (IFT) and the Ground Effects Impact Control System (GFX) to enhance comfort and reduce joint stress during exercise.

2. Important Safety Information
WARNING: To reduce the risk of serious injury, read all important precautions and instructions in this manual before using the treadmill.
- Always consult with a physician before beginning any exercise program.
- Keep children and pets away from the treadmill at all times.
- Ensure the safety clip is attached to your clothing before starting a workout.
- Do not operate the treadmill if it has a damaged power cord or plug, or if it is not working properly.
- Maintain a clear area of at least 6 feet (1.8 meters) behind the treadmill for safety.
- Do not step on or off the treadmill while the belt is moving.
- Maximum user weight capacity: 400 pounds.
3. Setup and Assembly
The Precor TRM 835 requires assembly. It is recommended that assembly be performed by trained personnel due to the weight and complexity of the unit. Refer to the separate assembly guide for detailed instructions.
3.1 Unpacking and Placement
- Carefully remove all packaging materials. Inspect the treadmill for any shipping damage.
- Place the treadmill on a flat, stable surface. Ensure adequate clearance around the unit as specified in the safety section.
- Verify all components are present as per the packing list. Note: One customer reported missing parts upon delivery; ensure all components are present before proceeding.
3.2 Electrical Connection
- Connect the power cord to a grounded electrical outlet. The treadmill operates on corded electric power.
- Ensure the power switch is in the OFF position before plugging in the unit.
3.3 Initial Inspection
Before first use, it is advisable to perform a thorough inspection:
- Check for any loose connections, especially around the console and motor area. One user reported finding loose connections on speed control; ensure these are secure.
- Ensure the running belt is centered and free of debris.
- Confirm the emergency stop button functions correctly.

4. Operating Instructions
4.1 P30 Console Overview
The P30 Console provides a clear display of your workout metrics and allows control over speed, incline, and workout programs.

4.2 Starting a Workout
- Ensure the safety clip is securely attached to your clothing and the console.
- Step onto the treadmill belt.
- Press the "Quick Start" button or select a desired workout program from the 25 preset options.
- The belt will begin to move at a low speed. Adjust speed and incline as needed using the console controls.
4.3 Adjusting Speed and Incline
- Speed: Use the speed control buttons on the console to adjust the belt speed. The speed range is 0.5 to 16 mph (0.5-25.5 kph).
- Incline: Use the incline control buttons to adjust the deck incline. The incline range is 0-15 percent.
4.4 Heart Rate Monitoring
The TRM 835 offers two methods for heart rate monitoring:
- Touch Sensors: Grip the touch heart rate sensors located on the handlebars for real-time heart rate display on the console.
- Wireless Chest Strap: Use any Polar compatible 5 KHz wireless chest-strap transmitter (not included) for continuous heart rate monitoring.
4.5 Ending a Workout
To end your workout, press the "Stop" button on the console. The belt will gradually slow down and stop. Alternatively, pulling the safety clip will immediately stop the treadmill.
