Setup Instructions
- Unpack Components: Carefully remove all parts from the packaging. Inspect for any damage.
- Set Up Folding Stand: Place the folding stand on a stable, level, and heat-resistant surface. Ensure the legs are fully extended and locked into position.
- Place Fuel Holders: Position the two fuel holders securely on the designated spots beneath the water pan area of the folding stand.
- Insert Water Pan: Place the large water pan into the top frame of the folding stand.
- Add Water: Pour approximately 1 to 2 inches of hot water into the water pan. Using hot water initially will help the chafer reach operating temperature faster. Do not overfill.
- Insert Food Pan: Place the food pan directly into the water pan.
- Place Cover: Position the cover on top of the food pan.
Operating Instructions
- Prepare Fuel: Place unopened chafer fuel canisters into the fuel holders.
- Light Fuel: Carefully light the fuel canisters using a long lighter or match. Exercise extreme caution.
- Add Food: Once the water in the water pan begins to heat, place your prepared food into the food pan.
- Cover Chafer: Keep the chafer covered when not serving to maintain optimal food temperature and moisture. The lid can often be hooked onto the back of the stand for convenience during serving.
- Monitor Fuel: Periodically check the fuel canisters. Replace them as needed to maintain heat.
- Extinguish Fuel: To extinguish the fuel, carefully place the snuffer lids over the burning canisters. Allow them to cool completely before handling.
Maintenance and Cleaning
- Cool Down: Always allow the chafer to cool completely before attempting to clean.
- Empty Water and Food: Dispose of any remaining food and water.
- Wash Components: Wash all stainless steel components (water pan, food pan, cover, fuel holders) with warm, soapy water. Use a soft cloth or sponge to prevent scratching.
- Rinse Thoroughly: Rinse all parts thoroughly with clean water to remove soap residue.
- Dry Immediately: Dry all components immediately with a soft, clean cloth to prevent water spots and maintain the stainless steel finish.
- Storage: Store the chafer in a clean, dry place. The folding stand allows for compact storage.
Troubleshooting
- Food Not Staying Warm:
- Ensure sufficient hot water is in the water pan.
- Check if fuel canisters are lit and providing adequate heat. Replace if empty.
- Keep the cover on the food pan as much as possible.
- Fuel Not Lighting/Staying Lit:
- Ensure fuel canisters are new and not expired.
- Check for drafts or strong air currents that might extinguish the flame.
- Water Spots on Stainless Steel:
- Always dry components immediately after washing.
