Maintenance

General Care

The camera body is constructed from a mixture of magnesium alloy and textured rubber. To maintain its condition:

  • Avoid exposing the camera to extreme temperatures, humidity, or direct sunlight for prolonged periods.
  • Keep the camera away from dust and sand.
  • Do not drop or subject the camera to strong impacts.

Cleaning

  • Camera Body: Wipe with a soft, dry cloth. For stubborn dirt, use a cloth lightly dampened with water.
  • Lens and Sensor: Use a blower brush to remove dust. For smudges, use a lens cleaning solution and a microfiber cloth designed for optics. Avoid touching the sensor directly.
  • LCD Screen: Gently wipe with a soft, lint-free cloth.

Troubleshooting

This section addresses common issues you might encounter with your Fujifilm X-T10.

Camera Does Not Power On

  • Ensure the battery is fully charged and correctly inserted.
  • Check if the battery contacts are clean.
  • Try using a different, fully charged battery if available.

Autofocus Issues

  • Ensure the lens is securely attached and clean.
  • Check the autofocus mode setting (AF-S for stationary, AF-C for moving subjects).
  • In low light, the camera may struggle to focus. Use the AF-assist illuminator if available, or switch to manual focus.
  • Ensure there is sufficient contrast in the area you are trying to focus on.

Images Are Blurry

  • Check your shutter speed. If it's too slow for the lighting conditions or subject movement, increase it or use a tripod.
  • Verify that the lens is properly focused.
  • Ensure the image stabilization (if using an OIS lens) is enabled when needed.

Memory Card Error

  • Ensure the memory card is inserted correctly.
  • Try formatting the memory card in the camera (note: this will erase all data).
  • Test with a different memory card.
