1. Important Safety Instructions

Please read all instructions carefully before using the Milliard Raclette Grill. Failure to follow these instructions may result in electric shock, fire, or serious injury.

• Electrical Safety: Ensure the voltage of your power outlet matches the rating on the appliance. Do not immerse the appliance, cord, or plug in water or other liquids.
• Hot Surfaces: The grill surfaces and heating elements become extremely hot during operation. Use oven mitts or heat-resistant gloves when handling hot parts. Allow the appliance to cool completely before cleaning or storing.

3. Setup and First Use

3.1 Unpacking and Cleaning

1. Carefully remove all components from the packaging.
2. Wash the granite stone, reversible grilling surface, and raclette pans with warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry completely.
3. Wipe the main heating unit base with a damp cloth. Do not immerse the base in water.

3.2 Assembly

1. Place the main heating unit base on a stable, heat-resistant surface. Ensure there is adequate ventilation around the unit.
2. Choose your desired cooking surface: either the granite stone or the reversible non-stick grilling surface. Place it securely on top of the heating element.
3. Ensure the raclette pans can slide easily into the slots beneath the heating element.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Preheating the Grill

1. Plug the power cord into a 120V 60Hz electrical outlet.
2. Turn the temperature control dial to the desired setting. The indicator light will illuminate.
3. Allow the grill to preheat for approximately 10-15 minutes. The granite stone may take longer to reach optimal temperature compared to the non-stick surface.

4.2 Cooking on the Top Surface

• Lightly grease the cooking surface with a small amount of cooking oil or butter before placing food.
• Place thinly sliced meats, vegetables, or seafood directly onto the hot surface.
• Cook until desired doneness, turning food as needed.
• The granite stone heats slowly and evenly, ideal for delicate items. The non-stick surface heats faster and is suitable for searing.

4.3 Using the Raclette Pans

• Place slices of raclette cheese or other desired ingredients (e.g., pre-cooked vegetables, small pieces of bread) into the individual raclette pans.
• Slide the pans into the designated slots beneath the heating element.
• Monitor the cheese until it is melted and bubbly. Use the wooden spatulas to remove the melted cheese from the pans onto your plate.

5. Care and Maintenance

Proper care ensures the longevity and performance of your raclette grill.

1. Cool Down: Always unplug the appliance and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.
2. Cleaning Surfaces: The granite stone and reversible grilling surface are dishwasher safe. For stubborn residue, soak in warm, soapy water before washing.
3. Cleaning Pans: The non-stick raclette pans are dishwasher safe. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or metal utensils that could damage the non-stick coating.
4. Base Unit: Wipe the main heating unit base with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or immerse the base in water.
5. Storage: Store the clean and dry appliance in a cool, dry place.

If you encounter issues with your raclette grill, refer to the following common problems and solutions:

• Appliance does not turn on:
  • Ensure the power cord is securely plugged into a working electrical outlet.
  • Check if the temperature control dial is set to an 'ON' position (not '0').
  • Verify that the power outlet is functional by testing it with another appliance.
• Uneven heating:
  • Allow sufficient preheating time, especially for the granite stone.
