4. Setup
4.1 Placement
- The water heater is designed for under-sink installation. Ensure there is sufficient space for the unit and its connections.
- Mount the unit securely to a solid surface, such as a wall, using appropriate fasteners. The unit is designed for wall mounting.
- Ensure the location is protected from freezing temperatures.
4.2 Water Connection
Connect the water heater to the cold and hot water supply using 1/2 inch connections. It is crucial to install the supplied safety valve on the cold water inlet. This valve prevents excessive pressure build-up inside the tank.
- Install the safety valve on the cold water inlet pipe. Ensure the arrow on the valve points towards the water heater.
- Connect the cold water supply to the inlet of the safety valve.
- Connect the hot water outlet of the water heater to the hot water tap.
- Open the hot water tap to allow air to escape while the tank fills with water.
- Once water flows steadily from the hot water tap, close the tap. Check all connections for leaks.
4.3 Electrical Connection
The appliance comes with a power cable and plug. Ensure the electrical outlet is properly grounded and matches the voltage and frequency requirements (230V/50Hz).
- Before plugging in the appliance, ensure the water tank is completely filled.
- Plug the power cord into a suitable grounded electrical outlet.
- Do not use extension cords or adapters.
5. Operating
5.1 Initial Startup
After installation and filling the tank with water, the unit is ready for operation.
- Ensure the water heater is properly connected to both water and electricity.
- Turn on the power supply to the unit. The indicator light (if present) should illuminate.
- The water heater will begin heating the water to the set temperature. The initial heating cycle for 7 liters from 12°C to 65°C takes approximately 13 minutes.
5.2 Temperature Adjustment
The water heater is equipped with a continuous temperature regulator, usually a dial or knob on the front or bottom of the unit.
- Rotate the temperature regulator to your desired setting. Higher settings will result in hotter water.
- The thermostat will automatically maintain the set temperature.
6. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the lifespan of your water heater. Always disconnect the power supply before performing any maintenance.
6.1 Regular Cleaning
- Clean the exterior of the unit with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Periodically check the safety valve for proper operation. Refer to the safety valve manufacturer's instructions for testing.
6.2 Descaling
Depending on water hardness, scale deposits may accumulate inside the tank and on the heating element, reducing efficiency. Descaling should be performed periodically by a qualified technician.
- Disconnect the power supply and drain the water heater.
- Access the heating element and tank interior to remove scale deposits.
- Replace the anode rod if it is significantly depleted, as it is crucial for corrosion protection.
7. Troubleshooting
Before contacting customer support, please check the following common issues and solutions:
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| No hot water | No power; thermostat set too low; heating element failure. | Check power supply and circuit breaker; adjust thermostat; contact service for element replacement. |
| Water not hot enough | Thermostat set too low; excessive hot water demand; scale build-up. | Increase thermostat setting; allow time for reheating; consider descaling. |
| Water leaking from safety valve | Normal expansion during heating; faulty valve. | This is normal during heating. If continuous, check valve or contact plumber. |
| Unusual noises | Scale build-up; loose components. | Consider descaling; contact service for inspection. |
