5.2 Using the Milk Frother

Your Bialetti Tazzissima CF37-BK includes a milk frother for preparing cappuccinos and lattes.

  1. Fill a stainless steel frothing pitcher with cold milk (dairy or non-dairy) to just below the spout.

  8. Press the Steam Function button again to turn off the steam mode.

6. Maintenance and Cleaning

Regular cleaning and maintenance will ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your espresso machine.

6.1 Daily Cleaning

  • Portafilter and Filter Baskets: After each use, remove the spent coffee grounds and rinse the portafilter and filter baskets under warm water.
  • Drip Tray: Empty and rinse the drip tray and grid daily.
  • Steam Wand: Immediately after frothing milk, wipe the steam wand with a damp cloth. Periodically, remove the tip of the steam wand and clean any milk residue with a small brush or needle.
  • Exterior: Wipe the exterior of the machine with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads.

6.2 Descaling

Mineral deposits from water can build up in your machine over time, affecting performance and taste. Descale your machine every 2-3 months, or more frequently if you have hard water.

  1. Ensure the water tank is empty.
  2. Mix a descaling solution according to the manufacturer's instructions (e.g., a commercial descaler or a solution of white vinegar and water).
  3. Pour the descaling solution into the water tank.
  4. Place a large container under the brew head and steam wand.
  5. Turn on the machine and allow it to heat up.
  6. Run approximately half of the solution through the brew head by pressing the coffee brewing button.
  7. Open the steam valve and run the remaining solution through the steam wand.
  8. Turn off the machine and let it sit for 15-20 minutes.
  9. Empty and rinse the water tank thoroughly. Fill it with fresh water.
  10. Repeat steps 4-6 with fresh water to rinse the system completely. Repeat rinsing until no descaling solution remains.

Caution: Always follow the instructions provided with your descaling product. Do not use harsh chemicals that could damage the machine.
