  • Multiple Technology sensing for reliable occupancy detection.
  • Designed for easy installation and setup.
  • Supports Single Pole or Multiple Location wiring configurations.
  • Rated for 1000W, 120 or 277VAC, 60 Hz operation.

Setup and Installation

Pre-Installation

  1. Turn OFF power at the circuit breaker or fuse box.
  2. Remove the existing wall plate and switch from the wall box.
  3. Carefully identify the wiring: Line (hot), Load, Neutral, and Ground wires. If you are unsure, consult a qualified electrician.

Wiring Instructions

The IntelliSight Occupancy Sensor Switch requires Line, Load, and Neutral connections, as well as a Ground connection. Refer to the wiring diagram provided with the product packaging for specific connections. General wiring steps are:

  • Connect the Line (hot) wire from the electrical box to the designated Line terminal on the sensor switch.
  • Connect the Load wire (to the light fixture) from the electrical box to the designated Load terminal on the sensor switch.
  • Connect the Neutral wire from the electrical box to the designated Neutral terminal on the sensor switch.
  • Connect the Ground wire from the electrical box to the designated Ground terminal on the sensor switch.
  • For multiple location (3-way) installations, follow the specific wiring diagram for that configuration.

Mounting

  1. Once wiring is complete and secure, carefully push the sensor switch into the wall box.
  2. Secure the switch to the wall box using the provided mounting screws.
  3. Attach the decorator style wall plate (not included) over the switch.
  4. Turn ON power at the circuit breaker or fuse box.

Operating Instructions

Automatic Operation

Upon power-up, the sensor will enter an initial warm-up period (typically 30-60 seconds) during which the connected lights may turn on. After the warm-up, the sensor will begin detecting occupancy.

  • When motion is detected, the lights will turn ON automatically.
  • The lights will remain ON as long as occupancy is detected.
  • After no motion is detected for a set time delay, the lights will turn OFF automatically.

Adjusting Settings

The IntelliSight sensor switch typically includes adjustable settings for time delay and sensitivity. These adjustments are usually made via small dials or buttons located behind the wall plate or on the front of the device. Refer to the product's specific instructions for detailed adjustment procedures.

  • Time Delay: Controls how long the lights remain ON after the last detected motion. Common settings range from 15 seconds to 30 minutes.
  • Sensitivity: Adjusts the sensor's ability to detect motion. Higher sensitivity detects smaller movements or movements at greater distances.

Maintenance

The Lightolier Controls IntelliSight Occupancy Sensor Switch requires minimal maintenance.

  • Periodically clean the sensor lens with a soft, dry cloth to ensure optimal performance. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Ensure the sensor is not obstructed by furniture, decorations, or other objects that could block its field of view.

Troubleshooting

Problem Possible Cause Solution
Lights do not turn ON when motion is detected.
  • No power to the switch.
  • Incorrect wiring.
  • Sensor sensitivity too low.
  • Bulb is burnt out.
  • Check circuit breaker.
  • Verify wiring connections (consult electrician if needed).
  • Increase sensor sensitivity.
  • Replace bulb.
Lights remain ON constantly.
  • Constant motion detected.
  • Time delay set too long.
  • Sensor obstructed or faulty.
  • Ensure no continuous motion in sensor's view.
  • Adjust time delay to a shorter duration.
  • Clear obstructions; if problem persists, sensor may be faulty.
Lights turn OFF too quickly.
  • Time delay set too short.
  • Sensor sensitivity too low.
  • Sensor field of view obstructed.
  • Increase time delay setting.
  • Increase sensor sensitivity.
  • Remove obstructions from sensor's view.

If troubleshooting steps do not resolve the issue, contact a qualified electrician or Lightolier customer support.
