Installation Instructions

  1. Turn Off Power: Before beginning, ensure power is OFF at the circuit breaker or fuse box. Verify power is off using a voltage tester.
  2. Remove Existing Switch: Carefully remove the wall plate and mounting screws from the existing switch. Disconnect the wires from the old switch.
  3. Identify Wires:
    • Hot (Line) Wire: Typically black, connected to the power source.
    • Load Wire: Typically black, connected to the light fixture.
    • Ground Wire: Typically bare copper or green.
  4. Wire the Dimmer:

    Connect the wires to the P600-PP dimmer as follows:

    • Connect the Ground wire from the wall box to the dimmer's green ground screw.

    Note: This is a single-pole dimmer. For 3-way applications, a different dimmer model is required.

  5. Mount the Dimmer: Carefully fold the wires into the wall box. Secure the dimmer to the wall box using the provided mounting screws.
  6. Install Wall Plate: Attach the decorative wall plate (not included) over the dimmer.
  7. Restore Power: Turn power back ON at the circuit breaker or fuse box.

Operating Instructions

The Lightolier P600-PP dimmer features a push-push rotary control for on/off and dimming functions.

  • Turn On/Off: Press the rotary knob firmly inward until it clicks to turn the lights ON or OFF.
  • Dimming: Rotate the knob clockwise to increase light brightness and counter-clockwise to decrease light brightness.

Maintenance

The Lightolier P600-PP dimmer requires minimal maintenance.

  • Cleaning: To clean the dimmer and wall plate, wipe with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents. Ensure power is off before cleaning.
  • Bulb Replacement: Always turn off power at the circuit breaker before replacing incandescent bulbs connected to the dimmer. Ensure replacement bulbs are incandescent and do not exceed the dimmer's 600W rating.
