Setup
- Prepare the Tiles: Place all 56 triangular playing pieces face down on a flat playing surface. These form the "boneyard."
- Distribute Racks: Each player receives one plastic rack.
- Draw Initial Tiles:
- For 2 players: Each player draws 9 tiles.
- For 3-4 players: Each player draws 7 tiles.
- Determine First Player: The player with the highest "triple" tile (e.g., 5-5-5) goes first. If no player has a triple, the player with the highest "double" tile (e.g., 5-5-X) goes first. If still no starting tile, players draw one tile at a time from the boneyard until a triple or double is drawn, and the player with the highest such tile starts.

Operating Instructions (Gameplay)
Tri-Ominos is a game of strategy and number matching. Follow these steps to play:
- Playing a Tile: On your turn, you must play one tile from your rack onto the playing surface. The numbers on at least two sides of your tile must match the numbers on the adjacent sides of the tiles already on the board.
- Scoring Points:
- Standard Play: When you play a tile, you score points equal to the sum of the numbers on that tile. For example, playing a 3-4-5 tile earns you 12 points.
- Triples: If you play a triple tile (e.g., 4-4-4), you score 40 points plus the value of the tile.
- Bridges: A "bridge" is formed when you play a tile that connects to two other tiles, creating a gap that is then filled by your tile. This earns you 40 bonus points.
- Hexagons: A "hexagon" (or "star") is formed when you complete a six-sided figure with your tile. This is the highest scoring move, earning you 50 bonus points.
- Drawing Tiles: If you cannot make a valid move with any of your tiles, you must draw one tile from the boneyard. Each drawn tile costs you 5 points. You can draw up to three tiles in a single turn (for a maximum penalty of 15 points). If you still cannot play after drawing three tiles, your turn ends, and it's the next player's turn.
- Ending a Round: A round ends when one player successfully plays all their tiles. That player earns a 25-point bonus, plus the sum of all remaining points on their opponents' racks.
- Game End: The game can be played for a set number of rounds or until a player reaches a predetermined score (e.g., 150 points). The player with the highest total score at the end of the game wins.
The game encourages strategic thinking as players must consider not only their own moves but also how their plays might benefit or hinder their opponents. The heavy, sturdy plastic tiles with brass spinners enhance the tactile experience of the game.

Maintenance
To ensure the longevity of your Tri-Ominos Deluxe Edition, please follow these simple maintenance guidelines:
- Cleaning: Wipe the playing tiles and plastic racks with a soft, dry cloth. For stubborn marks, a slightly damp cloth can be used, followed by immediate drying. Avoid abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals.
- Storage: Store all game components in their original box in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. This will prevent warping or discoloration of the plastic.
- Handling: Handle the tiles and racks with care to prevent scratches or damage. The brass spinners are designed for durability but can be damaged by excessive force.
Troubleshooting
If you encounter any issues while playing Tri-Ominos, consider the following common scenarios:
- Difficulty Matching Tiles:
Ensure you are matching at least two numbers on the sides of the tile you are playing to the numbers on the adjacent sides of existing tiles. Remember that the orientation of the tile matters.
- Running Out of Moves:
It is normal to occasionally run out of playable tiles. In such cases, draw from the boneyard as per the "Drawing Tiles" rule in the Operating Instructions. This is part of the game's strategy.
- Lost Components:
While the game is designed for durability, accidents can happen. For replacement parts, please contact Goliath customer support (see Warranty & Support section).
